Cotton and flavor

Can using different cotton enhance/degrade your flavor? I recently started using cotton bacon, and before that just standard japanese cotton.

Lately i have found flavors to be more dull, and started thinking about it trying to figure out what is going on and perhaps it's the change in cotton?

More often than not it's wicking speed / how tight the wick is packed in and the coils that affect flavor, but there is a difference in flavor among wicks. In general, for me, cotton bacon and rayon have the purest flavor recreation and wicking rates. It's a personal preference thing though. There's a ton of variables that affect flavor, and wick choice overall is on the smaller end of that scale behind wick design and coil choice in my experience

I've had some cotton that has tasted like shit, those have been the freebies included in devices that I buy. Needless to say I no longer use them nor will even give that cotton away

That said I've tried a number of cottons, The premium cotton's Cotton Bacon v1 and v2, F5 Supima, Native Wicks Platinum and some various others I can't recall. The Japanese Muji, Koh gen Doh and also some various others. Yes even tried de-gummed Hemp fiber

My favorite premium is native Wicks Platinum, very nice. But to be perfectly honest I always come back to Koh gen Doh. Very easy to use, soaks up juice/wicks very fast, good flavor and at $10-$11 for 80 large pads from Amazon.......... ya just can't beat it ya know.
