Just got this cotton today was wondering if anyone else has tryed it or if it's safe. I usually use cotton bacon or cotton candy but I'm waiting on an order. This says it was whitened with hydrogen poroxide is that okay?

Yeah, I have some still from back in the day. The peroxide concerned me so I switched to Rayon and got creeped out by that too and ended up using KGD. Since you're just using it to get by for a few days while waiting for vape mail, I'd use it personally. You will taste it.

Of course its safe bro. Just as long as its organic & not processed.

I use it. I Rotate between Japanese, cotton bacon & organic cotton balls from Walmart. Can't tell much of a difference honestly, just as long as your wicking is on point.

Okay thanks man. Also did you buy your KGD locally or online? I couldn't find it in any of my local stores I never tryed wallgreens or riteaid though.

I've been using Organic Cotton Balls in all my RDA's for years..

It takes a few hits to get rid of that "new cotton" taste at first but for me it wicks fast and no dry hits..BTW, I think Japanese cotton is overrated, and between the two I prefer organic ..good stuff,

My two cents....

Yeah it's safe, as far as I know. None of us have put these cotton products through the rigors of a lab.

However, I have noticed a "taste" in it for the first few toots of a fresh rewick.

I have tried nearly every cotton on the market, and I now stick to ONE cotton for myself.

I get it on Amazon. Puffs organic cotton squares. It's all I use now.

This one has been debated since the start of vaping. Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is what the argument is always about. I would have no fear of using them. There are several doctors that recommend inhaling peroxide to cure several conditions. H2O2 is totally natural, and decomposes quickly into water and oxygen when released into the atmosphere. I don't like the taste, so I always boil them first. I am probably picking up more trace minerals by boiling than I am by just using them out of the bag.

Hydrogen peroxide probably just oxidizes the cotton to change the color. People use it to clean out scrapes & cuts, also as a mouthwash to oxygenate etc, etc,. Shouldn't be a problem vaping..

Yep, that jives with what I read about the topic years ago now that you mention it. To each their own but, I just used them straight from the bag.

I ended up sticking with KGD because I personally could tell a difference in flavor and the cotton or rayon wicks would give me a swollen tongue the next day after vaping on a fresh wick. I don't get any weird flavors or problems with KGD so that's what I stick with. Again, to each their own.

It's fine - many of us start with cotton balls from the drug store.

Eventually you may find you prefer something else, but in the meantime enjoy it!

Boil it, let it dry, and vape the crap outta it.

Properly wicked, with organic cotton balls, I can get 20+ hits before I need to redrip. Stuff works great, and if you boil it first, takes away all of that cotton-y taste you get when you first wick.

I wouldn't use it, but that's just me. But when you think about it, Japanese cotton probably isn't safe either, being produced in a country that has had a massive nuclear meltdown, probably more masive than they tell us.

It's all gonna kill ya no matter what. lol

My problem with the japanese cotton sheets, especially the organic "brown" ones, is there's no way to rid it of that cotton taste, outside of just using it until it goes away. You can't boil it, like you can the cotton balls, otherwise it just fluffs up and falls apart. Organic cotton, technically speaking, should be one of the safest wicks you can use. If it's whitened with hydrogen peroxide, that's alright as well. H2O2 breaks down rapidly with heat, turning into oxygen and water, so even if you don't boil it first, it'll go away after a hit or two. When you boil the cotton that's been treated with peroxide, you can smell it evaporating off as you boil.

Cleanest tasting wick I've ever tried, tons of vapor and flavor. Love it.

IMHO in a pinch rather then Walmart brand cotton I will use a gauze pad( taking the paper out of course) making my vape a good bit hotter then all others.
