Crown 4 Mesh Coils - are they worth it?

I've been doing quite a bit of reading to see which coils are the best for the Crown 4, in terms of flavor as well as durability. From the limited info I could gather; it seems the 0.23ohm Mesh coils have the best flavor but short lifespan. Can anyone here provide anymore insight on the mesh coil, or even the SS904L coils?

I have been doing the .2ohm SS904L coils and find they last a lot longer. Bought a 4 pack Oct. 14th and still on my second coil.... I only got to try one of the mesh coils but my sweet custards killed it in 2 weeks... Hope that helps....

How long does the SS904L last you with same juice?

One other thing: how is the 'anti-leak' feature working for you? I'm on my last Crown 3 coil and plan to open my Crown 4 tomorrow. Debating on whether or not to clean it with dawn prior to using it

Sadly I only had 2 tanks worth of the exact same custard but have had many others by the same maker.... Going from Strawberry to Blueberry Killer Kustard by Vapetasia shouldn't have made that much difference. But it was the Strawberry KK that was in the mesh. I want to say about 90ml worth.

As far as the anti-leak feature goes, it is awesome. Barely even see condensation. It does exactly as it promotes it does. I've even dripped juice in there to see if it gets siphoned back into the tank and it does.

What's your thoughts on cleaning with a tad bit of dawn prior to use? I clean my Crown 3 with it every few weeks and noticed if i scrub a certain area (top fill) with a paper towel when cleaning up the condensation, the color would bleed a bit onto the paper towel. Very minimal but enough to second guess my methods.

Normally I clean my tank with every atty change but have found that being able to change out the atty in the crown 4 while it still has juice in it has me a little more lazy with my cleaning habits. Just normal hot water does the trick. Unless you are looking for a way to disinfect it, anything more would basically be overkill... Enough use will have condensation left in the drip tip and fill area on everything. So yeah, I normally just run it under hot water then rather let it air dry or use a paper towel to whip out the condensation.

I clean my drip tip weekly with dawn, disassemble and clean the tank with each coil change, which I know is overkill. What I meant was, with a brand new tank - would you sanitize it before using it for the first time? The drip tip I will clean for sure, but I'm not sure about disassembling and cleaning it before first use.

Gotcha.... Yeah to get rid of the oils from the machining is always a good practice.... Sorry about that. I've seen quite a few reviewers do this back in the day, not so much anymore. Assuming they still do, just don't want to add the extra seconds on the review to go over that anymore.... What you are doing is just fine. In fact your practice is probably better than mine. It really doesn't hurt anything to be extra proactive while cleaning.

My one suggestion though, by cleaning all the parts before hand and again before each change of the atty, don't tighten to the best of your ability when reassembling the tank. Will find it gets stuck and hard to get apart again. Simply tighten til you feel resistance and that should be enough. Save yourself the headache of trying to get everything apart without messing up the finish. I did that a lot before I started trusting myself to allow less tension. lol

Dude I am horrible at over tightening. I just like the feel of inserting the coil into a freshly cleaned atty and how the o-rings squeak in, so you know it's nice and tight.

alright just confirming, disassemble crown 4 and clean it before using? I'm a bit nervous because of how you remove the glass on this thing.

EDIT: I only use watered down dawn on the hardware/glass, never on any o-rings. getting the flat black (top cap) and red (bottom chimney) out is rough - I usually use my electric duster to pop them out with the Crown 3 - The electric duster also helps dry things quickly as well.

One more thing - I noticed it uses the same o-rings as the crown 3 in regards to the drip tip; chimney; and the chimney base? If so that's great since I got a couple packs for 60 cents each a while back, i think the glass o-rings and top cap are different though..

Debating on using the Crown 3 drip-tip since the Crown 4 one looked very small in pictures, did you wind up using an alternative 510 on it as well? I want to thank you for all the help with this.

Update: opened the Crown 4 - machine oils is a good term to describe how it felt. Getting the glass off was super easy but I'm stuck on unscrewing the chimney

I believe the chimney and whole center section is one piece. The glass comes off by pulling it up once the top cap is unscrewed, and the bottom is unscrewed where you can swap coils but that center section is one piece so there is no unscrewing.

Yes any 510 drip tip is usable here. The o-rings are the same for the tip but have not looked to see if the o-rings for the glass are the same or not.... I know they are the same for the Crown 4 and the Valyrian 2 tank though.

As far as the drip tip I still use the one that came with it.... I do have several others though but mine is the all black one and it is hard to find a blue to match the Aegis Legend I have it on.

Like Rooster Cogburn said it is one piece. the bottom comes apart to switch the atty but the the stem seems to be one piece.

Just took mine completely apart and even removed the 2 o-rings off the chimney and it is 1 piece for the crown 4..... Unless they modified it after it first came out, mine is one piece..... Wishing I could view the image you posted....

see the yellow or-ing? it comes with the crown 4 too

I see.... Yeah mine is not like that at all.... There is no key in this one, but there is a small yellow o-ring in the pack of o-rings... When I had mine a part I tried twisting the top of the stem, even took the o-ring off the stem and it doesn't budge.... It even looks and feels like it is one piece.... Sadly the manual is no help.... lol

I'll look on google and see what I can find.... The video below goes over all but the 2 o-rings for the drip tip and the yellow one... lol

yea but you can see where the chimney connects but one piece makes sense since there's no longer the chimney lock lol

Crown 4 Tank - Yellow Seal
renderTimingPixel.png

**UPDATE**

got a reply from UWELL

Hi Cordell,

Thank you very much for your support for Uwell. The yellow O-ring is for the TPD version (2 ml version), It's useless for the standard version.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Uwell

Hi all!

Can someone tell me where the yellow seal goes for the Crown 4 tank?

the wifes tank is leaking (6mill glass) so I went to swap seals out, there is a yellow one and I have no idea where it goes. Tried seaching online but everything I get form results is places to purchase *sigh*

@VapeJunkie wish I waited to open my atty until you responded this morning :headbang::sad:

@Rooster Cogburn my apologies, you were correct.

Yeah.... Sorry I didn't finish this last night but I was dead tired and internet was wonky on me... At least now we know. Also the manual and the video both say it is 90 degree turn for the top cap. Never really paid that much attention to the degree of turn but trust me, you feel when it locks and when it hasn't....

No worries, I wasn’t sure what else to say as everything I saw said one piece. I found this pic which I’ll put up just so no one comes here and gets confused. Shows the breakdown of the Crown 4B645E223-F0BF-46B9-938E-A72FE3B16BE8.jpeg

7. Uwell Crown 4 (Best Non Leaking Tank)
uwell-crown-4-sub-tank.jpg

I thought I should paste this here to let the masses know about the prestigious honor the Uwell Crown 4 has won. This was for all of 2019 and the Crown came out on top of this brilliant category. In the year of our lord two thousand and nineteen I’d like to congratulate Uwell for making the best non-leaking tank in their Crown 4. High honor indeed and if y’all are wondering who won the best leaking tank of 2019 I’m not sure, they must still be counting the ballets but I will post as soon as I get the news.
