Crown ni200 coil

I just installed the ni200 coil for the first time in the Crown... Primed and locked in at .16 ohm on my IPV4....not much experience with this coil, so I was wondering what is a good Joules/Temp
setting would be to start breaking it in..
I've only got this one coil that came with it so I don't want to burn it right off the bat...lol

I just checked the Uwell site because Matty has his on a 40TC and it's too hot (over taxing the mod I think). They have an insane temp range listed, but no one gives power suggestions for the head like with K or SS. That may be normal, I never noticed.

Use common sense right... it's a fat coil (for Ni) so ramp up to 40-50 as it breaks in and see what's what. Temp is so subjective though, I run most Ni heads in the mid 400's. YMMV.
Thanks Jim
I'm at 35j and 380°F...airflow about 2 clicks closed... Wanted to try to vape at least a half tank before cranking it up some... We'll see! Thx again

I have a rdna40 and have it at 40 watts and 520F and have to take like 10 second pulls to get good flavor from the coil.I think another 10 to 20 watts and it would be perfect. Can't wait to get a more powerful mod to run this crown tank.

I ended up with my ni200 broke in and great flavor at 50 watts 520F. It takes a good tank or more yo get the flavor to shine. Word of caution I had 2 bum coils before my 3rd hit right. I primed it for a couple of hrs by added juice to the top of coil and waited till it flowed out the wick holes. Then vaped it low power and gradually increasing power much like standard coils. It just took long time to get the flavor to shine

I remember that! Mine was great right out of the box (I had a Ni coil with one of the tanks). Primed just like the others and it was good to go.

Joules/watts interchangeable - some mods just call it watts, some call it joules :)
Mine has TC set up in Joules Mode only..
Power mode (watts) for Kanthel. Diffently not interchangeable on my IPV4..

That's great. I'm glad you had success with it. Of all of them I still like the ss over the nickle. But I'm curious to try the 1.2 coils

My SS was good to go flavor wise, though I did do the ramp up for break-in. Have no idea just how important that is or not for coil longevity, but it doesn't hurt so why not.
Worked for me but again I can't say it actually extends the coil life. Time will tell

A Joule is a watt-second, so they are pretty much interchangeable.
I just tried the power mode at 40w..the ni200 did fire but I can't program the temp setting..it only shows up in the display in Joules mode...oh well

Try setting temp at 480 and joules at 40J. Then increase joules as you vaoe it till you get to 50 then increase temp as you see fit. Should do the trick for you brother

What I meant was that I have several TC devices. Some of them use joules/temp and others use watts/temp. Either way you still do everything in temp control mode!

Like I mentioned before I can't program the temp setting in power(watts) mode..
It only shows up in the display on my IPV4 in Joules mode...in fact I'm not liking TC much right now...gonna pull this nickel coil and install my tried and true .25... Just picked up a box of them at my local shop..leave TC to you experts... In my opinion right now TC is somewhat overrated ..

let it cool down, turn off the mod. When cool, turn the mod on and press the + and - buttons at the same time to lock the resistance. Open up the airflow 2 clicks from closed on the atty. Set the temperature for 490 and the watts for 50. Vape it, if the vapor seems weak, increase the temp by 20 to 510.

Thx but I just went back to the .25
It works for me better than that ni200..
the .25 at 60w has good flavor and decent clouds... More importantly I get my nic fix in about 3 good pulls...no worries

Nope you can't - you can only program temp in TC mode on any mod, which sort of makes sense!

I got 2 packs of nickle coils for a good price, but now I'm going SS with a DNA. Anyone want to trade me some .25s? Since I doubt that will happen, I will pass them on $10 ea shipped.
