Crown Tank Leaking for anyone else?

I have bought and been using the Crown Tank for the past few days, until my TFV4 comes in. I am using the Ni200 TC Coil and when I top fill I get mad leaking down in the base. I am assuming it is from the air pressure when tightening the top down and pushing the juice through the coil.

I am wondering if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I just got ahold of a bad coil?

I do the fill exactly the way UWell states on their instructions. I have found if I bottom fill I do not have the same issue.

I hope I don't have this issue. I'm waiting on my crown in the mail

make sure you close the airflow to fill, i've only had one leaking issue because my mod was in my front pocket in 100+ degree weather walking around the county fair for six hours, juice got a bit thin...

I agree with Diceman 100%. I have been using a few of these tanks for months now. The only time I EVER have a leak is when I forget to close the airflow dial on the bottom.

no leaking at all with mine. I do have a question, though. which coil should i be using with an evic 60w ?

gary68, with the evic vt, I'd go ni200 for temp control... otherwise, .5 ohm single coil for power mode...

Mine showed up in mail today. Can't wait to leave work and try it out. Does anyone know if this is one of the tanks that still has machine oil that needs to be rinsed off or can I just go full throttle

I have closed off the air flow and still pushes fluid through, maybe I just got a bad tank. I am using the Ni200 coil with it also.

I finally went and bought a second coil and tried that first and no leaking now.

Ok... Almost 4 months to the day since the last post in this thread. I have a Crown. I have had 0 issue with the .25 and .5 ohm coils. I do everything right. I finally broke down and bought some Ni200 coils, the first one tasted awful, and never got better, also it didn't wick worth a damn, so I pulled it and upon closer inspection I could see that the coils were not spaced evenly and it had a hot spot, so I inspected the remaining 3 coils and saw the same issue in 1 other coil. I took one of the good coils and put it in, locked my resistance, primed the coil, filled the tank, let it set for 20 minutes, and started breaking it in. After 2 days it tasted pretty decent, but it still didn't appear to be wicking evenly. I noticed a light film of juice on my mod, but just dismissed it as misting. After 6 days I am noticing that it leaks a little. I am seeing full drops of juice outside the vents only 2 so far but never the less obvious leaking, also as the week has progressed I have noticed a heavier film of juice on my mod. Could this be the coil? Or the rings. The tank is new, only a month old. Thoughts?

Yeah all my coils leak a little if I let them sit too long. But that is my fault. Never used the ni200. So can't answer that.

My leaks seem to be more if a seep and I see it around the air flow ring.

I would look at the gasket on the bottom of the coil to make sure its seated properly in the base.. I have a couple Crowns that leaked a like yours because of this..now when installing a new coil I make sure the gasket is there and it is seated TIGHTLY in the base...hope this helps some...

I fill it twice a day, top fill, closed air flow. At night I remove it from my mod, wipe it off with a little alcohol, pull the drip tip, and leave it upside down over night to prevent flooding. In the morning I run a qtip down it, rinse my drip tip, dry it off, wipe the tank off with a dry rag and insert the drip tip, then fill it, and wipe off any juice before I screw the cap on. I know that sounds like a lot, but hey it's my ritual. I'm just not sure what to do different, other than change the coil, an the rings.

I'm normally pretty good about that as well, that isn't to say that I missed it, but I will double check tonight.

That...is pretty damn smart actually. I will totally be stealing that to prevent flooding.

Regarding the Ni200 coils...I've got two Crowns, one with the Ni200 and one with an 0.25 kanthal. Never had either one leak, and there's been a few times when I forgot to close the airflow, so I think leaking is mostly due to coil or gasket issues. I have noticed that the Ni200 coil seems to "dry out" juice, giving a "dryer" vapor hit, if that makes any sense whatsoever. Ni200 coil in my Starre Pro does the same thing, I'm not sure if this is just an effect of the temp control concept with the flavors I'm using. Either way it's basically tured me off of temp control, I like wattage mode just fine anyway.

I've heard many theories about the leakage and film issues with the Crown as I am a victim of that.
I've changed every O ring and have no more. Changed coils. Checked everything. All that good stuff. Still leaks and has minimal flavor. Customer service from where I bought won't do anything about it, so far.

I have the Arctic V8 and its top fill as well. I never close any AFC on it, chain vape, use thick juices. I put it through hell. Never once leaked, spit, gurgled, misted, had any film or anything. So the theory behind the closed AFC doesn't seem to fit for me since the Crown has juice in the air slot hole space on the AFC even when it's closed.

I really wanted to like this tank, it's gorgeous. But I can't get behind a tank that has so many issues much less want to buy their new one.

Might have been okay I had gotten a replacement from the vendor I got it from. However, I refuse to purchase anything from them again or anything of Uwell's from this point on.

TL;DR - had same issues with the Crown and can't get it to work right. I would recommend Arctic V8 for a tank similar to the Crown but way more coil options and no issues to speak of.

Steal away!!!
I have noticed the Ni200 seem a little dryer than the other coils, may just loose them and go to the .5 and slap it on my Presa 75 if it ever shows up.

I just ordered the Griffin..if this tank lives up to the hype I'll be parking my Crown..those replacement coils are sorta pricy...

Been seriously considering the Arctic. I have been tossing it around in my head, either that or the tfv4. I like the coil options on both very well, but haven't seen a side by side comparison yet. Smok has a couple of new rbas for it, and I hear a story about a vertical quad rba. All that aside the Arctic has some pretty cool coil options, that I never thought I would see. I'm interested how the Tigers and Snakes are working.

Me too! I ordered a black one. The volume of vaping stuff I just ordered is...substantial.

I will say that paying $10 or so for a box of 0.25 coils for the Crown never bothers me ($9.99 a box at Vape Royalty). They last at least a month, so if I buy three boxes the tank is good for the whole year, basically. With more tanks and RDA/RTAs to play with soon I'll hit the Crown that much less, so they may last even longer. If they crapped out after a week it'd be a different story but these are some of the best coils I've found in terms of lifespan.

If those are the two options you're weighing then let me tell you a bit of my experiences.
The arctic has top fill like the TFV4 but the V4 has top fill leaking problem with the style that it uses.
I find the SS coils for the Arctic put out more flavor than the Clapton option and uses way less juice.
I've not found anything finicky with the Arctic yet, on any of my Arctics for that matter.
It's also cheaper (that I've seen in many places) than the TFV4.

And it also comes down to style of vaping and what you find to be user friendly. Any tank with the possibility of leakage is a deal breaker for me.

@philsubOhms is testing out the hive, tiger, and whatever the other new coil that just came out for the V8 so hopefully he will share his news soon. And I just put in an order for RBA for the V4 so I'm also excited to play with that and give you my feedback.

That's another tank I am considering. That or one from Vaporfi, haven't decide on one from there either. Quality seems to be the thing in common with these three tanks. I don't mind an RTA but I also want the option to slap a coil in something if I'm feeling lazy or waiting on wire.

I've had a problem with coils burning out quickly but I've never had any of my crowns leak a drop.

I had some time this morning to pull it all apart, and look at where the problem could be, and it is the coil itself that is leaking around the bottom positive pin. I knows this because it had juice all over it and was spinnin like a top.

Ok without starting a new thread on this subject, i havent had any leakage with my crown. Untill i started useing the rba. Now it leaks like crazy. Just drained 90% of the tank throught the airflow ring. I closed it to fill and prime my coil but now its just leaking bad. Thank god i had an empty bottle handy to save most of my juice
