Curious about how vendors take care of new customers

Do you as a vendor ask your new customer time on vaping, and/or explain about devices?

I am asking this question, because my 19yr old son let me know him and his girlfriend have now picked up vaping. YAY! I am so proud of them both for doing this.. (amongst other things) :D

However, let me explain..
The vendor did right by his girlfriend and she ended up with an ego and a c4 throw away..
My son however, (not knowing what he was getting into!) told the vendor he wanted something he could blow clouds with (like Mom)..
Neither had any experience, but lucky them, his girlfriend figured it out quick at home! and my son called me up and I walked him thru his mech (nemi) dripper (omega) <brave son! and his battery and coils..

Thing that bugs the ever lasting crap out of me.. the vendor did not explain to either one..
just rung up the sale and out the door with the both of them..
I did not ask if they got carded, due to being under 21.. however..

What does everyone else think on this? Should vendors know their customer base?
grrr.. mis-spelled on title.. @egomama can you help me fix it please??

Since I got here first, I took care of your meespeeeling error:D

The shops I have been in seem to fall into two cagegories.

Those that just want the cash and those that will go well beyond the call of duty to make sure that their customers walk out the door fully informed on the gear they have purchased and how to safely operate it.

And ALL vendors should card their customers just to be on the safe side. Antz just sit and wait for screw ups on our end.

The one local B&M I used to frequent was generally rude and not helpful to new vapers. They were nice to me, but only because I could speak intelligently about more advanced vaping concepts. When they would offer advice to new vapors it was often condescending and sometimes just wrong. For example, I watched them try to sell a young vaper an 18650 mech, rda, 2 18650 batts and 4 18350 batts with the comment "wait til you stack these little batteries, it will knock your socks off." I had to step in and tell everyone that it was not safe for him to stack. The owners argued, but thankfully the kid only bought the 650s.

The store closed down, but luckily, a new B&M with much cooler owners has opened up and is selling the same juice line (pricey, but amazing juice!)
