DarkHorse Atty, what kind of build for the most "milk"

I have a rig mod set up with a dark horse atty on top. I have tried mainly just 22 gauge-7 wraps, and 24 gauge-5 wraps. I want to get a lot of taste from it ,as well as a massive cloud being produced. Any tips or advice on what kind of build to make for the more tasty, milky, competition status clouds, would be really appreciated

For denser clouds and better flavor I like less airflow but have to use higher gauge wire to allow longer hits without dry hits. For larger clouds I like 24 9 wraps dual coil. To get the best results though you will have to experiment.

I just tried a single 2.5mm, 24ga, parallel build, using 4 wraps (8 strands across) in my dark horse, and It tastes really good with some nice clouds. Id assume if I made a dual parallel build with one extra wrap on each side, it would be a knock out. This is with a single 18650 mech.

I have purple efest '35'amp in the nemesis (with The dark horse on top) now, but I also use Sony vtc4s and Samsung 25rs. All work fine. I use two paired sets of the Samsung's in my serial18650 box mod.

Best flavor so far for me from my DH has been from dual coils, 26 gauge twisted 7 wraps @ .6

I'm going to be watching this thread, I haven't had the success with the Dark Horse I have had with others, have been all over the map regulated and mech dual and single..from .5 to 1.5, can't catch any flavor no matter what I wrap compared to my other RDA's.

Did a Quadruple 32 AWG/Double 26 AWG Twisted/Parallel 4 wraps Dual-coil side by side @ .4

I was loving it till my Caravell's firing button gets so hot it stops working.

maybe your button is getting hot because you have a short. you coil looks like its dangerously close to where the top cap sits.

Close but no contact.

well that's good. there must be some other reason why your button gets hot.
but if youre happy with that performance and level of safety, vape on. but if it were me, i'd remedy that situation for sure.

Personally I love my sleeper coil at 0.26ohms with 22g 7 wraps in my DH sitting on top of my copper Anarchist. Pretty good flavor, warm vape, huge clouds, and quick ramp up time.

It's the switch. I see a spark jump from safety ring to the button. Goto figure that one out. Someone said the plastic insulator and /or Spring.

there must be some metal-on-metal contact going on in your switch, creating a short circuit. id take apart the switch, examine the insulator inspecting for wear, tears, discoloration, or anything unusual looking. it could be something as simple as a stray piece of kanthal clipped from your excess coil leads that somehow made its way into the switch. could also be that your spring is toast. a lot of times mods are outfitted with 'hot springs', which collapse under extreme current (short) to protect your battery (and you). you could stretch out the spring, but getting a new one is better. if everything looks kosher in the switch- while its all taken apart, clean each component with soap and water and reassemble the switch. it could be just as simple as that.
once your short is resolved, youll get better conductivity (less voltage drop), and your batteries wont get stressed as much. that excess heat is not good for the battery.
