Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars is playing out pretty much exactly as you'd expect. It's not a deep book by any means, but it has a lot of fun playing in the toybox that is the original 1984 Secret Wars. There's plenty of the usual brand of humor found in Deadpool-centric team-ups. The Merc With a Mouth craves the respect and acceptance of Marvel's other heroes, while they can barely stand to be in his presence. However, the series is also clever about allowing Wade to influence the course of the Secret Wars conflict in subtle and entertaining ways. This issue is the most notable in that regard, offering a neat and surprisingly appropriate retcon to an iconic character's history.
