HBO has finally greenlit the long in development Deadwood movie.
HBO programming president Casey Bloys announced the news earlier today at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, confirming Daniel Minahan will helm the TV movie. Minahan directed several episodes of the original show.
"We are greenlit on the Deadwood movie," Bloys said. "It has been a logistics nightmare getting all the casts’ schedules lined up, but it’s greenlit."
Production is expected to begin sometime in spring 2019. For now, though, plot details are being kept under wraps.
