Deep Fried Melon Balls

4% CAP Honeydew
2% FA Melon Cantaloupe
1% CAP Cake Batter
1% FA Watermelon
0.5% FA Coconut
0.5% FA Nut Mix

I came across the term 'deep fried melon balls' somewhere last winter and it made me think of a vape that might be interesting. Kind of greasy at first at first, but one that finishes fresh. Well this is the fifth iteration of it and I think I like it as it is. I hope you do too.
it didn't really come together until I changed from MFS Honeydew Melon to CAP Honeydew. That also brought the total flavoring down to under 10%; always a plus.

Shake and vape, but it ages well.

Of course...

It's a lot better than it sounds. I've been mixing for a couple friends and they love it. You can take it to the county fair this fall. I'll fit right in.

From What I know of FA Joy ( I'm vaping @Daintanee 's Joyfully Cinnfull right now) it might knock down or muddy up the cleanness of the melons in the mix. However that shouldn't stop you from trying it. What do I know. :D

I just mixed up JOY at 2.5% last night and it's pretty yummo. I definitely get that "fairground" thing, so I decided to add some ethyl maltol to it, just for kicks. I did it in kind of a sloppy way--just threw some of my EM (aka "cotton candy) 10% solution in an RBA with the Joy, and wow! Now it's like fairgrounds on steroids--high-powered cotton candy overload! Or maybe it's cotton candy smeared on fried dough? I'm confused and happy. I'll figure it all out later.

I just mixed up FA Joy for the first time and am wondering if it might have a place in a variation of this recipe :) What do you think, @caddisfly?
That is odd, all of a sudden I wonder this also, as I wish to mix this up, but that cake batter and I do not like one another. Hmmmm. I need more coffee to think straight. I'm in zombie chair dusting mode.

It sure sounds like it should ... definitely worth a shot! I was finally able to order some Joy, might even be here by Friday. bananadance.gif

But then again, I don't really have a problem with Cake Batter so no biggie ... :p

Well, in light of being spontaneous...
Dainta, do you like caps honeydew? Why yes, I most certainly do! In drops 4% Caps honeydew!
And cantaloupe? Oh yes! In drops 2% FA cantaloupe!
How about some watermelon in there? Ok. In drops 1% FA Watermelon.
Cake batter, Miss D? No way Jose! In drops 1% FA Joy! Oh my she did it!
A little coconut, man? Hell yeah! In drops .5%% FA Coconut!
What do you say? You don't have nut mix? Well, you are just gonna have to throw in some walnut then. Okay! In drops .5% FA Walnut.

Shake shake shake! Smells yummy!!!
Burn off coil, Re wick! Drip some on, fill up the subtank.

Whatcha think, chickie? Oh yeah, she likes it!:D. With this much melon, joy did not overpower, but added a nice deep fried taste. Mind you this is fresh!

You can have my 10-13 ml. Untouched bottle! I accidentally ordered 2, tried and sent one on to Teresa. I'm still trying to give this one a good home!

I'm glad this worked out for you. You've made it sound very alluring... I may have to mix it soon :) BTW, I tried Joy + Strawberry + caps cake batter @ 5% and... well, it was my first -ever use of the cake batter flavoring so I don't have a point of comparison AND my percentage of Joy is way too high 3%, but YUCKO. I don't advise using FA Joy with Cake Batter or any custard-ish flavor. I'm afraid unless I want to massively dilute and re-add (which I am likely too lazy to do) I'm gonna have to toss this bottle.

@NGAHaze, I don't have caps honeydew, either--only the one by Jungle Flavors. Don't take my word for it, but I get the impression you could use TFA honeydew starting at about half the percentage called for in any recipe that uses a non-TFA Honeydew. The TFA one is known for being exceptionally strong, but I'm pretty sure I've tasted it in vendor juice, and it doesn't seem to be noticeably difference quality-of-flavor-wise.

Thanks @lirruping!! That helps a lot, I'll definitely give this a try with the TFA version of HoneyDew. :)

Lol! I just saw this for the first time. ROFL amidst falling drops of joy.

I tried this with both Cake Batter and Joy and it was very good with both, however, if I had to give an edge to one over the other, I'd probably lean towards the Cake Batter ( Sorry D! ). If you wanted the Melonness ( it's okay if I just make up a word, right? :) ) to stand tall then Joy is your huckleberry but if you want a more blended flavor, the Cake Batter is a better fit for that job. Well, to my tastes anyway. I suspect D has a different opinion. :p

ETA: Forgot to mention that the Cake Batter does need a little time to settle in ( or a stint in the crocky ) otherwise it tends to dominate early. That might make Joy a better choice if you wanted to vape this right away.

ETAA: Wow, I also forgot to mention that I did use the TFA Honey Dew in the percentage recommended by lirruping and I think it worked out quite well. Okay, I think that's it for real this time! :)

Hmmm. I recall trying a recipe someone on vu made that only had 1% Caps VC in it and it was surprisingly good. At that low of a % I didn't get what I consider "that funky caps taste". Give me some time and I will try this out as written and tell you what I think. I'll even compare side by side with joyful melon balls. Have you done this yet Caddy? I know many were unimpressed with joy, but I really like it.

What the heck, I'll give it a try. I need to mix up some more anyway. I'll do both. Thanks for the suggestion and the Cap VC.

I mixed up a batch and added 1% Caps VC and did not like it at first. This morning it is starting to grow on me. I bet that instead of the Caps VC, wllmc's Game Over Custard would work better and without the diketones.

Oh gosh, I was not clear, I apologize. I meant that maybe I could handle the cake batter in this bc I tried a recipe, but not this one, with only 1% Caps vc and I found I didn't get that funky taste. I'm sorry Caddy. Vape mail headed your way today or tomorrow depending on how fast my nicotine defrosts.
