If you're a fan of contemporary horror novels, you're probably familiar with writer Grady Hendrix. Hendrix made a splash with books like 2014's Horrorstör and 2020's The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, and now he's making his comic book writing debut on Diablo House.

IGN can debut an exclusive preview of Hendrix's story in this forthcoming anthology, which is illustrated by October Faction artist Damien Worm. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:

Diablo House is a follow-up to the 2018 comic book series of the same name, which was written by Ted Adams, drawn by Santipérez and published by IDW. The new Diablo House is once again a horror anthology centered around the titular building, but this time the tales in this book are mostly prose-based rather than comic book vignettes.

Here's the official description of Diablo House from publisher Clover Press:

Diablo House is an all-new, horror anthology, featuring terrifying tales about horrendous humans, all of whom are more than willing to part with their souls just to get ahead. This anthology features an eclectic line-up, with new prose short stories from New York Times-bestselling and Bram Stoker Award winner Nancy Holder, acclaimed board game writers, and comic book authors. The anthology also includes the comics debut of bestselling novelist Grady Hendrix (The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires), featuring art by Damien Worm (Netflix's October Faction). Diablo House is now on Kickstarter with Clover Press.

Diablo House is presented as a beautiful 6" x 9" 168-page hardcover book, with full-color printing on the cover, black & white printing on the interior, and with a 16-page full-color inserted section of Grady Hendrix's comics debut. The anthology includes prose stories by Erik Burnham, Jon Cohn, Scott Duvall, Shaun Harris, Nancy Holder, Nate Murray, and David Winnick and a cover by Diablo House co-creator and original comic book artist Santipérez.

The Diablo House Kickstarter campaign is live now.

In other crowdfunding news, Iron Circus Comics is leaving Kickstarter behind to pursue the publisher's first completely independent crowdfunding campaign. IGN also recently got the scoop on Substack's ambitious "launch day" plans, as the company bets big on original comics content in 2022.
