Diketone-Free Vanilla Custard?

Anyone have a good recipe for a solid diketone-free vanilla custard?
I've been tinkering for a while. I've got FA's whole lineup pretty much and a good chunk of TFA.
I can't seem to reliably create a super tasty vanilla custard without using like Cap Vanilla Custard v1

Also anyone have any experience with Vapor Flavor's Custard? Supposed to be completely diketone free, but I'm wondering how good it is?
