Only been vaping about 9 weeks. Using severely damaged lungs with COPD.
All my vape liquids are 80% VG as the
damage I have done to my lungs cannot
handle more PG.
Currently using two 20 watt Istick with
a Nautilus tank on one and an aspire mini
on the other. Both now have the Triton mini Clapton coils in them.
Also using a VTC mini with a kanger subtank
mini running the .5 ohm coil at between 45-55 watts. This is my main vape. The Isticks are for taking hits of other flavors here and there through out the day.
Other than these, the only tank I have used is the Tron tank that came on the VTC mini.
When it worked good, it was great. It spit some very hot liquid into the back of my mouth/throat once and I decided I would not give it another chance to do that again and it was passed on to another potential victim.
On to the Crown.
Being a 40 year Journeyman Tool & Die maker, the fit and finish on this tank and it's
parts are flawless. It looked like what we call
in the trade, "Like Jewelry".
I put it on a new VTC mini. Loaded the .5 ohm
coil after wetting it down and let it sit for about 30 minutes drawing on it a few times without firing it.
Started at 35 watts. The coil left a definite
stainless aftertaste. Reminiscent of TIG
welding stainless steel.
The vape was blah, nothing to be excited about. After hitting it 30-40 times, bumped
it up to 45 watts. The flavor came through
a little better. I hit it like that until about half
the tank was gone.
Bumped it up to 55 watts and again, the flavor was better, but the vapor produced was
lackluster.
By the time the tank needed refilled the aftertaste was still there, and I was just not
happy with the experience compared to my
subtank mini.
I installed the .25ohm coil and let it sit as before. It too gave a stainless taste, but not
as severe. The cloud production was better.
I was thinking, this might work.
I used this in wattage mode anywhere from
35-75 watts. Anything over 60 watts was just
too hot for my lungs.
Using this today at 55 watts, it is getting better. Still not up to the quality of flavor
and cloud I am getting from my subtank
mini.
The VTC Mini did allow me to put this
coil in temp mode. It showed 75 watts
running it at 400°f. I really saw no difference
in the experience than in wattage mode and 55 watts.
I am considering trying a .15ohm nickle coil
I am sure the aftertaste will go away.
I do have concerns of whether my 75 watt
mod will be enough to make use of it.
From what I have seen, I will more than
likely stay with the subtank mini's.
Most of my displeasure may be due to
the fact that I have a very limited lung
capacity. This, and my limit of 75 watts, may be causing me to be unable to work this tank as hard as it should be.
It is a fine piece of work, top shelf appearance.
Just not what I can enjoy right now.
Thanks, and thanks for being part of
a great resource here at Vaping Underground.
