I've been using the R-200 for some time now and love it, however, the one I am using now has a dim display.
I've cleaned the contacts, the batteries are indeed fully charged.
Anything else I can do to make it come back to the way it was originally?
Thanx in advance!!
That's a classic.
I have one of those.
The screen is similar to a DNA screen.
Are the lights out entirely or just dim?
If they are just dim then one of the backlights could have went bad.
If it's entirely out the screen has either failed or became disconnected from the chip.
Yeah, It is a classic, but a damned good MOD.. The display works, just very dim, barely readable but can still be seen. I have a new one in the box but was hoping to keep this one in use for as long as possible. That's a classic.

Just a thought check for Stealth Mode?
Holy Shit!!!!Yeah, It is a classic, but a damned good MOD.. The display works, just very dim, barely readable but can still be seen. I have a new one in the box but was hoping to keep this one in use for as long as possible.
BIG THANX to all of you that have replied!
Like I said, it is still working and even tho the display is readable (barely) It hasn't failed yet.
I am a big fan of this MOD and I've had it in service for 5 years, and I have a new one in the box.
I just can't bring myself to retire this one if it's still functional. With the help of a magnifying glass, I am still able to make any changes necessary. Was wondering if I did accidentally press a couple of button combinations or something that made it go dim.
Love this MOD and just hate to give up on it....
Thanx, I will knock it apart and see what options I have to check and clean the connections to the display. If you can get it apart, see if you can disconnect the screen from the socket and clean (carefully) the socket and the contacts on the end of the ribbon.
I agree, it's more likely a backlight, but can't hurt to try reseating the cable it that's possible. Some are soldered on.If they are just dim then one of the backlights could have went bad.

Like I say, can't hurt.Thanx, I will knock it apart and see what options I have to check and clean the connections to the display.
And please note...
It's very clean, I've never had a problem with a tank leak of any kind. Juice has never been an issue.
The display is ON and visible (barely) So it's not a stealth issue..
