diy mixing

Hello I am a new member in the UK My name is Ben
I have been mixing for a year now, but need some help please from forum members if possible.
My problem is separation of flavours even when my e juice has stood for a month or more.
I mix my VG PG nicotine and flavours in a glass container, with an electric whisk for about
5 minutes.Leave container open in a cool place for 5 days and bottle.
Any idea's on the above would be appreciated Many Thanks BEN :)

Some flavorings just naturally want to separate. Citrus and spice flavors that include essential oils are especially quick to do so. Just give your bottle a quick shake by hand before you use it.

What brand and type of flavors are you using? I see no reason to let them breathe that long. I primarily use real flavors super concentrates now which have up to 3% alcohol in them (but have been using TFA/CAP/FW for the past year) and have never left the cap off for more than 2 or 3 hours. I use a badger paint mixer for 30 - 60 seconds, let them breathe for an hour or two, then let them steep for 3 - 4 months or more in a dark cabinet in my cool basement.

I've only experienced separation with two flavors, FW Blood Orange and FA Cocoa. The blood orange separates as an oil-like orange substance that floats to the top. A quick shake and it's gone. The cocoa separates as a dark, gritty substance that sinks to the bottom. Shaking appears to get it back into suspension, but there's definitely solids/sediment in it that kind of bugs me, so stopped using that flavor.

I wouldn't advise leaving your mixes exposed to open air for so long. 5 days is a long time for dust and other contaminants to settle in your juice, and to my mind that much exposure will degrade nic and flavors. Breathing isn't a normal part of steeping for me, I only do it with a few alcohol-heavy flavors, and then only for a couple hours. Just my 2 cents.

hope you get it figured out :) all good advise above so I don't have much to add but the monkey dance :bingo:, without knowing what flavors you are using its hard to say but hopefully its a flavor thing but the longer it sits untouched the more it will separate. thick and heavy to the bottlom thin and light to the top. I also agree that uncapped for 5 days might not be the best idea :)

How do you know the flavors are separating? Would you explain what you see or how you determine it is the flavors?
