Just opened a pre-order for what looks like the next big thing in the affordable wattage game. The 50W IPV v2 utilizes the Sx330 board which is capable of up to 50W and as low as .2 ohms.

You can check it out here, as well as all the spec :
http://vapinggriffin.com/shop/apvs/ipv-v2-50w-box-mod/

There's even a demo video on there, SERIOUS CLOUD PRODUCTION!

How is the cover held on?

Screws or magnets?

Here's a shot under the cover. From the looks, seems like the cover slips on and is supported by a screw. I have contacted the manufacturer and will let you know when I hear back from them!

I can see what looks like a top screw and a bottom screw in some of the photos I've seen. Photos with the cover off show empty holes, no evidence of magnets.

I'm really starting to love the box mods coming out recently. I think this one will make it into my collection.

OMG I just pre paid for this, as I want to learn to do RDA/RBA's. My vaping budget is out of control. I can't compare it to the cost of smoking as I rolled my own and it only cost me $3.00 per week. (Duty Free) I have spent a fortune in the last 10 days. But it is sooo fun! My Husband is going to kill me. Shhh!!!

The one thing I don't like on this mod is the charging port is on the bottom.. Hope they change that quickly..

Didn't even notice that the charging port was on the bottom. I should make a nice charging cradle for it to set in before it comes.

Beware of people selling these below retail! The Manufacturer will not grant any warranty to those sold below retail price! Our pre-order includes the full 1 year warranty with a USA service center for repair/replacement :)

Cant count how many China fails I've been through...

A new mass produced piece of electronics with circuit boards is prone to failure. Most will get lucky and not have a problem, but to pay the $80 and then be told no returns, no warranty if the thing fails...#$80paperweight

I'm also the kind of guy that would probably take that kind of risk to save $$ (if I wanted one) but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Agreed. We wouldn't do that to our customers. Sad part is the cheap vendors aren't saying anything about not including the warranty. I hope no one assumes it comes with the same warranty that we offer!

Big difference between a year warranty and not taking a return I have had my Cana mod that failed for 2 months and the company I plan on buying the IPV 50w from took it back no prob... I understand if it said "No returns" I would not buy it either

I agree , no way i'm paying $110.00 for it , $79.99 is doable for a device like this and as long as they replace defective units i'm happy.

Ok, just checked some details about pricing and warranty validity on the IPV 50 watt .

This comes directly from Greenleaf , the warranty is still valid if you buy it from authorized vendors in the US , some vendors were given special permission to adjust their retail prices directly from Greenleaf .

YEAH BABY

I spoke to the Vendor that with coupon the IPV 50w comes to 79.99
And they indeed offer the one year warranty so I guess you must be speaking about these unknown vendors not offering the warranty.. So what Have I missed

Not taking a return for a DOA or unit that failed within a short time is a big red flag.

Yeah, i got to be honest , that's a pretty rough sounding day to me , iv'e had those things happen but it was spread out over a few days .

Had something nip me on the ass the other day , couldn't make out what it was , just got a glimpse of it but i'm pretty sure it was a member of the rodent family. Hang in there.

You can get the IPV 50 on pre-order from vaportek for 84.00 Elev8vape is no longer offering the 79.99 deal the price went up to 109.00 I am assuming that they had a certain amount they would sell to get it going now if I was you I would just email Elev8vape and say "Hey I saw the coupon for 30.00 off" and I want to buy one.. who knows what would happen

Haha you made me spit up my coke on your description of what happened :)

Are they made of abs ( plastic) or aluminum. Can't make it out. And yeah the 24 hours of hell is over. I just hope it doesn't turn into 48 hours of hell, but so far so good

Aluminum dude high grade... and what I like is t he IPV 50 unlike the Hana clones the board does not appear to be glued in which is so annoying and it appears to be easy to take apart ... I am stoked on this one for some strange reason of course I need 60+ mods of course haha

The description says 2.8v - 8.5v. Does this chip set provide true voltage step down?

Thanks for the reply VH fan. How can they quote 2.8v then? Will they let the battery drop to 2.8v before device shut down? This would kill the battery wouldn't it? Sorry for the newb questions, but isn't this misleading advertising and poor battery management.

Make me one, too!
You really want a charging cradle for the new ipv 50? Im going to make one more than likely out of thick metal rod and then plastidipped. It wouldn't be hard to make another while I'm making mine if you would still be interested.

I really dislike the 50watt + single 18650 battery thing.
I think they would have hit this one out of the park if it held dual 18650's.
I wouldn't mind the extra half inch of width.
I really don't know how long you can vape at 50 watts with a single cell, even with a VCT5

Your right , i am probably wrong maybe it has that step down ability , there is a lot of confusion on this mod.

I ordered one too. $99.00 shipped. It's on it's way to my house as I type this.

Should be here tomorrow or the next day.

That video of the Chinese dude hitting the side button and then the top touch sensor (that i am praying i can turn off. The last thing I need is my RDA firing at .3ohms/50watts as I am trying to attach it or drip juice on to it.) at .03 ohms and I was sold.

I'll post pics and pros/cons after I receive it and test it for a day or so.

Come on man you know you want to start a fire and burn your fingers like I did with the Cana catching on fire :) I do not know when I am getting mine soon looking forward to your thoughts I am wandering if the Cana caught fire I just had a battery vent then does that mean the IPV 50 will blow and shrap metal me? hahaha

Mine arrived at around 4pm today.

I am in the process of testing it with different RDA's with builds from .3ohms to .7ohms.

I am also testing it with 2 kayfun lites one at .8 and the other at 1.1 ohms.

So far Its right up there with my 50 watt Hex Ohm box.
I am sure battery life will be shorter though since the hex ohm has dual 18650's.
I'll post a few pics and what I think of it (pros/cons) so far tomorrow (Thursday) night and then see if I still think it's the same, better, or worse after mod envy on Saturday night..

So far, so good though :):):)
