any tips? or should i just go for it? there's some good videos on wiring a DNA30 and it looks simple enough. already cleaned out the box so i can see how cloupor wired it as well. i think im pretty good at stuff like this but being my first time making a mod i want to hear your thoughts

Subscribed :) Were you able to save the switches? They were hot glued in? Was you able to save the usb charging board, was it all glued up and unusable? Sorry for all the questions. LOL I might buy 5 bad units so i will be following.

my fire button broke when i was trying to get it out but my up and down buttons are fine, also was able to get the charge part out without issues. i need to test it though before ordering my chip to make sure. can get those tactile clicky switches cheap online though so no biggie. if i find another switch i like ill just get that one

i used a hairdryer to loosen all the expoxy and hot glue then went at it with a precision screwdriver, took about an hour to clean it out

I'd use this as an opportunity to fit better buttons. These 12mm anti vandal buttons fit perfectly flush on the side and are great to use:

The key to wiring a dna is cut the wires to length first and don't use thicker guage than you need to. And if you don't vape at 30 watts then you don't need so thick wire as its a pita to work with. Choose a guage you can tin and still slip through the connection holes. Then just a very brief touch of the soldering iron will suffice. Else the board heats very quickly and can ruin the chips.

Check the board's wiring before fitting (with the buttons) so you know it's working. If you're confident you've cut the wires to the right length then solder the buttons. If you're fitting the type of firing button I mentioned above then it'll be afterwards as that button goes in from the outside, but it doesn't require soldering.

What you don't want to be doing is wriggling the wires around once the board is fitted as that'll loosen their connections. So get the wire lengths correct first. For me, soldering the positive to the 510 before or after fitting depends on which 510 I'm using but I think beforehand is best. This advice is just the way I do it and find it most effective.

A potentiometer can also be fitted to a DNA if you fancy making something a little different.

i may just do that hobby kid thanks, i was really hoping to find a switch similar to that but one that sits more flush to the box. something like sigelei has on the 100w. also i have no idea what tin means, i was going to use some flux and a solder to wire everything up, fit it in the box, trim, and solder everything together

also do you (or anyone else) know if a fat daddy 510 would require me to drill out the hole more?

Tin: flux and apply solder directly to exposed wire. So when you go to connect that wire to your spot, it already has the solder on it. It will make a solid connection very quick with out over heating.

Well. There's more than enough info there on fitting DNA boards, vamos and fatdaddy 510s, videos and info. Good luck.

sorry @M5amhan i've only just seen your question and it's probably too late now but 30 watts will be ok. it's still very hot, and probably safer for the board. i used to use 40 watts and that was ok. i now use 60 watts but you gotta be fast or you'll kill the chip.
