Do you have multiple vape rigs, many juices and coils for them, and need a way to keep track of what's in what?

I have created 3 database libraries to track my vape rigs, juices and coils so I can easily recall what rigs have what juice and coil combos and track how they perform and when I last changed coils/juices, etc. I have uploaded catalog templates (3) to an app named "Memento Database" on the Android platform. Download the App on your Android and search their Catalog Templates for the word "vape". My templates are listed under the user name "skitcher1". Download the template "Vape Rigs" and it will automatically include the corelated templates called "Vape Juice" and "V Coil Stock".

I have set up my Coil library for premade coils as I don't rebuild, but you could easily modify it to track RDA's and RBA's once you learn the Memento Database structuring and editing rules. If anyone has questions about how I use certain fields (I set up what works for me), or how to modify filters (a little tricky) you can contact me here.

Please feel free to comment about how you are using/modifying these libraries. I was frustrated trying to find a way to keep track of my 18 Vape Mod/Pod systems so I had to make these myself. I have included the filters I am currently using for ordering coils and juices as well. Have fun with it!!

I just keep my rig descriptions in a Word document. I also keep track of what's put away, because I never have all my stuff out at the same time. I have a list for the living room, bedroom, bookshelf, office, and what's in my purse. Squonks separate from non-squonks separate from tubes & AIOs.

I tried to give a sample, but the alignment of columns was all screwed up. Oh well....

Yeah nadalama, I tried that...was too much work to keep up with 18 devices, which unlike you I have out and running at least 10 at a time (ie.one for morning coffee, one for after dinner, for playing Xbox, 2x for the pub, driving and incognito at social events! Check out Memento (available for iPhone too I just googled), you can have fields that are a user defined checklist, filters, sort and different views, and the 3 libraries automatically update to list at the bottom of each page where the item is used in another library. I have setup filters to let me know at a glance what I have to reorder and when... Even if you only have 3 devices this can save you time and getting up to "check what did I do to that one?" BTW - Memento is FREE to use with up to 3 libraries, as I have done! Cheers!!

I manage fine with what I'm doing, thanks, but there may be others here who could benefit from setting up a database.

I'm a programmer/analyst at my job, and the very last thing I want to see in my off-hours is another database.

I see... Was jus trying to help... BTW - are there other categories I could post this in that may reach others who could use it? I noticed you are a moderator here... 🤔

You put the post in exactly the right place, and it's better to not put the same post in multiple threads. Believe me, people will see it here.

No worries from me, I didn't mean to be dismissive. I've been at the IT thing for over 30 years, but you had no way of knowing that.

Thanks N. Keep on vaping... I quit smoking exactly last year on September 18th after 50 years of 🚬... Best thing I ever did for my health!! 😎

Hi, Bumping the thread (posting in it like I am now) to the top of the list occasionally helps get more views as well.
I checked the app on the playstore. The app looks great for organizing everything, not just vaping stuff but literally everything that involves data.
I can see it being handy. :)

*imagines putting his 3 vapes in a database "all 0.30 ohm coil, all using unflavored juice, redemption, THC, Gorge RDAs respectively" ... sighs, "missing the point" obviously ... wonders if he is supposed to also list ones not currently in use, shrugs & sighs again still "not getting it"*

I do got about 15 mods now. Don't use them all at once. Mainly just keep three in a "current rotation". The rest sit collecting dust until an urge strikes. Hm, well maybe 18 to 20 mods actually. Apologies, it's enough now that I do have a little brain fog to recall all of 'em. Still doesn't seem to warranting a database to "just keep up".

Now you can come and take a database inventory of my comic book collection? Sure I could really use that. Would be nice for you to bring an independent grader too. Then, maybe I could figure out a fair market value on them, sell them all off.

Know about twenty years ago I had around $5,000 worth. I've added about $2,000 more since then. Still values fluctuate and I know a few of them got "special" stuff going on what raises value. Not sure what a good estimated value would be but if I were to purely guess I would say about $9,000 maybe.

Yep, you can come inventory & grade my comic books. :)

But, I keep my Ninjack comics. No way those get sold, stolen, taken. I got an earlier series of these.

So I took some screenshots of my database to illustrate how I'm using Memento to track my rigs. A couple are duplicated to see the bottom of the entry where I've tracked puff counts, as some of my Smok units don't have a reset - just turnover at 1000, and one shows how the juice and coil libraries cross-reference what rigs the entry is in automatically. I'm tracking how long my coils last and which juices last longer - seems there is a wide range of difference. You can also set it to autocomplete in the Notes field, to popup phrases entered previously or often (i.e. ***Puffs will not reset on this device!) and in text fields like Wattage Range.

Notice I have several filters in each library (current one shown underlined at top of main screen). I created a juice entry called EMPTY to enter in rigs I'm not actively using currently, and then created filters to show All, All In-service, and All Empty at a tap. I also created filters in Juices and Coils to trigger when my stock is low and need to reorder. Also note that I have some redundant fields and links in places as I haven't decided if I need them all going forward, but it's nice they can be edited out at any time.

Yeah, I have too many devices and way too many juices and coils. Lately I have been using the Glas Vapor Basix Salts series of synthetic nicotine that are very good, though the jury is apparently still out on whether the synthetics are better for you (unless someone here can enlighten me).

You'll notice most of my devices are SMOK pod systems using Salt Nics and that I have 2 of most models. I like the Smok devices as they don't leak as much (like my Geek Vape stuff), and they have interchangeable coils that can be used in multiple pods. The Smok units also come with two different pods that use different coils, so I find a need here of a way to tell them apart and note where I stored them, what coils were in them last, etc.

Hope you all can see better how I use this tool - have fun with it! :shades:

Edit: Tried to align these as best I could - multiple inserts wouldn't work... 🤔

So I took some screenshots of my database to illustrate how I'm using Memento to track my rigs, and maybe give it a bump here

Hm, ...

A couple are duplicated to see the bottom of the entry where I've tracked puff counts, as some of my Smok units don't have a reset - just turnover at 1000, and one shows how the juice and coil libraries cross-reference what rigs the entry is in automatically.

Hmm, ...

Notice I have several filters in each library (current one shown underlined at top of main screen).

Uh, ...

I can see the questions mounting so I'll give some background here.

Well at least you can see something.

Alright, well after reloading can see the images. Apologies, images still do not influence me to use a database. Yes, can understand the usefulness of databases. Not denying that. I though just don't see the practicality for my case.

It reminds me of the new Adidas commercial. "What if were to tell you, ..." It goes on and lists a young basketball player's accolades. I simply ask "so what of it?" Plenty of folks got accolades for basketball.

What does their accolades got to do with sneakers? Why does it matter I'm told about their accolades? I could list my mods and such in database. What for? Is someone else going to demand I got an inventory? Why do I need to have total awareness over a hobby? Again, it's a "so what" question.

You'll notice most of my devices are SMOK pod systems using Salt Nics and that I have 2 of most models. I like the Smok devices as they don't leak as much (like my Geek Vape stuff), and they have interchangeable coils that can be used in multiple pods.

Wire for coils works in any RDA. Most RDA will fit most 510 female connector mods. This is pretty much standard and all interchangeable. Wire for coils also fits in tanks & pods.

Yep, knew I was gonna get flamed for that! Couldn't "attach" multiple images so I had to upload each one and resize and align side-by-side manually through a couple edits... I'm new here so I've yet to master the forum features! But you're right - way too much here for most.

I haven't tried building coils yet. I figure right now I've invested in one year about 1K in vape gear, and have enough juice and pre-made coils to last another 9 months (have been worried about availability with all the legal issues with vape products recently). So figure that cost compared to the ~$150 a month I was paying for cigarettes previously here in California (where the tax is highest). But I may try to rebuild at some point...

I figure right now I've invested in one year about 1K in vape gear,

My first two years may have spent $300, $350 tops. Recently, may have spent around $400. Been vaping 5 to 8 years. Spending more less isn't any measure. Only observing you've spent more in a year than I did in 5 - 8.

*shrugs* Like the hobby aspect. All the same for me it is being able to use nicotine with less risk.

And there you have it - the bottom line! When I realized after a couple weeks, and with some amazement, that it was actually working I just immersed myself in it. Well worth the cost for the best change I've made in many years. **A truly Duchenne smile emerges - breathing easy again... and appreciates the other points of view...**

Good there's a smile. :) Not good hearing of DMD. My lovely rare disease causes bones to thin. Sure I can be pumped up on vitamin D. There will be a point where it doesn't matter.

We enjoy what we have. :)
