Do you need high amp batteries if you don't vape high wattage? disappointed in Molicell p25a's

I got like 6 molicell p26a's and they seem to have started going out in less than a year. Disappointing after hearing good things about them, though its possible I don't have the best battery habits...

I was looking at batteries and got to thinking, I usually get 30+ amp batteries because I heard they were safer in high draw devices, but now after vaping a while I very rarely vape anywhere near the max capacity of the mods I use.
I mostly get two battery mods for the capacity, rather than to push amps.. I typically vape around 60-80 watts.

Think I should go to my old fallbacks, VTC5's? VTC6's? Are the VTC6a's really +4000 mah?

I don't have much experience with batteries but have been happy with Sony VCT5a (use in my dual 18650 mod) and Molicell 26a (use in my single 18650 mod) I keep the Sonys "married" (same pair always used and charged together) I've only had the 26a a few months and only use low watts with those so can't really say how long they should last.
What charger do you have? Do you know how many amps it charges at?

The big thing to think about is to just make sure you stay within amp rating. If you vape mtl and high resistance builds, you’re fine with a lower draw battery. If you vape low suborns builds you need to adjust accordingly. I typically stick with vtc5s for my 18650s and Samsung 30t for 21700s. Both are used with 0.15-0.2 ohm builds on squonk mods.

I know myself well enough to know that I suck at keeping track of what's where, and what characteristics each little piece of my mess has. I would never want to pick up a 15A green battery, thinking it was a 25 or 30a green battery, and stick it in a mech tube that's carrying an RDA at about 0.12 ohms. I know if I only buy good batteries, then as long as the wraps are not damaged and the battery has not been overheated or otherwise compromised in some way, I can use any battery I have in any mod in which it physically fits.

I didn't start out having at least a piece or two of just about every kind of vape there is, but that's pretty much where I've ended up. Knowing I haven't bought crap batteries EVER (at least not intentionally) makes me less concerned when I go to use any of it.

At 80W on a dual 18650 regulated mod, you need a 20 amp battery. You could get away with 15 amp batteries maybe, but you don't have much headroom so 20 amp is best for your safety at 80W. Unfortunately, you won't get much more mah dropping from a 25A batt to a 20A batt, so what you really want is a dual 21700 mod if you want a significant increase in mah. Sorry to break it to ya.

Yes they are, but those are 21700 batts. P26a is 18650.

CORRECTION: You can get 3000 mah from an LG HG2 which is a 20A battery, but good luck finding that. I don't know of any reputable battery retailer that has them. They stopped carrying LG batts when LG went on a campaign of trying to get their batteries out of the hands of consumers. Vape shops are not a good place to get batts but you might find one that has them...you just never know if you are buying fakes because they don't even know (or care) if they are selling fakes.
