Some Marvel fans think Deadpool is in Doctor Strange 2 after apparently spotting him in the film’s poster.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has already teased the return of Professor X in its recent trailer. But now fan theories are rife with suggestions that other Marvel characters could also show up.

Deadpool is definitely one of the wildest.

The newly-released Doctor Strange 2 poster includes a slew of character teases – reflections that appear in broken shards of glass.

But while the main cast appears front and center, fans think they’ve found a hint of Deadpool in the background. Of course, it could just be a trick of the eye. After all, it’s little more than a red smudge that vaguely resembles Deadpool’s iconic shushing image.

However, Disney’s head of marketing Asad Ayaz has thrown fuel on the fire as he revealed how ‘happy’ he is with Marvel fans poring over and dissecting the poster.

“All the amazing analysis & study of this poster makes me very happy,” he said via Twitter:

It's not an impossibility – after all, we know Deadpool will be a part of the MCU at some point, and that a script for Deadpool 3 is in the works. Doctor Strange's mutiversal escapades could be a neat way to have him enter the fray.

Whether or not Deadpool ends up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness remains to be seen, but it looks as though the Doctor Strange sequel could well change the MCU forever.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Xochitl Gomez also debuts as America Chavez. Sam Raimi directed the film based on a script by Jade Halley Bartlett.
