Does the quality of your nicotine affect the good flavor of your RDA vape at higher watts?

I only use 3 mg/dL in my mixes. It tastes pretty good at my normal 22-30 watts. I decided to try, based on the Steam calculator, the same juice at 50-70 watts in a 1.2 ohm dual coil set up in a Tobh. It tasted pretty bad. So my question is does less quality nicotine have more of an affect at higher watts than it would at lower watts? At the higher levels I was still well within acceptable levels of heat.

Seems I start losing taste after 35 watts. I tried Lemon Bars, similar to Hics Lemon Meringue Pie but not nearly as good, and Caramel Deilght, which I got from VU. My banana delight also is good at 25 watts but nothing at anything higher than 30 watts.

Using 26g Kanthal.

I will rebuilding tomorrow.

I also have a test batch from Nude coming and some from Vaper Tek coming. I have been using eliquid mart nicotine.

Thanks

Bad as in how? Besides less flavor.
If the wicking can't keep up, it's easier to get dry hits as wattage goes higher.
If your nicotine isn't that good, you can get a peppery taste from it while vaping. It would be more prominent with a higher wattage simply due to the higher wattage producing more vapor.

The quality of your nicotine has an effect on your flavor at any wattage, IMO. Bad nic tastes bad, regardless of wattage/voltage settings.

I have been using eliquid mart's nicotine (100 mg/mL, 100% VG) for the last two years and last week bought some more for the upcoming vaping apocalypse. I purchase my nicotine in a small size 150 mL (li'l bit over four ounces) and it turns orangey reddish when it reaches the end of the nicotine bottle. I only open the bottle every six weeks when I mix twelve bottles at once to prevent exposure and store it in a dark cool place. Still the flavor remains good and the nicotine hit is still significant vaping at 6% over one ohm, and at 1.5% for sub-ohm vaping.

Just curious, and this seems an appropriate thread. I'm not actually opening my nicotine. I puncture a small hole in the sealed top with a blunt tip syringe and then use a syringe to pull up what I need. My reasoning being as minimal exposure to air/oxygen as possible. Anyone else do this?

If you're puncturing the seal, this means you're not storing in glass receptacles? I moved mine from the white plastic liters to 32oz amber bottles. The other 6 liters I'm using smaller and smaller amber bottles for ease of use. I only left enough air to close the cap.

Just started, so we're talking a single 120ml plastic. Just wondering if it's worth continuing. Physics, void filling, air is going to get in. BUT, since it's head-topped with argon, as long as I maintain a vertical position, argon being heavier than air, there should always be a "skin" of argon protecting the liquid. In theory, anyway.

Nicotine in high concentrations (like 100mg/mL) is POISONOUS. If you're thinking about moving it to other bottles, please dilute it with PG or VG to 25 mg/mL to 50 mg/mL. That way if someone tries it by error, they live to tell the tale. I keep mine on a locked cabinet on the same bottle.

Mine is vg based. Before I began I thought I had to get undiluted nic. Boy, did I ever get an earful from you guys! Scared me shitless!

I always split, and dilute my 100mg NIC into 60ml glass bottles, and 2 into 30ml LDPE dropper top bottles.
That way only 1 30ml bottle at a time is being exposed to air constantly when mixing.
The others go back in the fridge or freezer.
Dilution is made to 50mg with either PG or VG so it's easy to measure half & half.
As long as the 100mg base is at room temp and shaken well before splitting, you'll have less issues with hot spots.

I did find out that the nic is affecting the flavor of my juice. Throat hit is nearly burning on DL but just fine at MTL.

I have 6 liters left to split. I have 8,4,2,1 ounce bottles to scale down. It will be a while before I get to those 32oz growlers in the freezer. And, when I do, I'll split that 32oz bottle back into the smaller bottles. I don't do much PG but I sure have a hell of a lot of it. I may post most on Craig's List. I'm usually a 30/70vg at 18-21mg and of course 100vg in an RDA will be about 9-12mg. I'll figure it out.

I just hope I have enough bottles left now to do the bottles I have left. The nic has been in the dark in my living room for 2 weeks or more. I need to get all of my current flavored ejuice off of the dining room table. Will post photos in other thread. Insane.
