The researchers found that the urge to smoke tobacco was much higher among daily smokers who watched the e-cigarette commercials containing visual cues. In addition, 35% of daily smokers who watched ads with visual cues smoked a conventional cigarette during the experiment, compared with 22% of daily smokers who watched ads without visual cues and 23% of daily smokers who did not watch e-cigarette commercials.

probably. Seeing someone use something that looks like something that you have an addiction to would probably cause you to want that addiction satisfied.
Im sure cokeheads get a little nose rustle when they see some BC powder lol

The visual clues mimic smoking just like the Cigalikes that so many of us started out with so what did they expect?

Precisely guys. If you are a smoker out for a drive waiting for a train to pass, you light up.
In this case, the train is the trigger.

I used to smoke a cigarette every time I watched one of those commercials. I thought "what a bunch of dorks! I'll show em, I'll go smoke." Yep, as bizarre as it sounds, that's how I felt and what I did.

And it was mainly because I had tried the cigalikes and they didn't work for shit. 2 good puffs, then it might as well have been a chicken bone. It took a good setup to get me to quit.

"The researchers found that the urge to smoke tobacco was much higher among daily smokers who watched the e-cigarette commercials containing visual cues."

if you lock a smoker in a room and don't allow them to smoke for 3 hours straight what happens?

Big fucking surprise, They want to smoke!

A smoker wants to smoke every hour.

it doesn't matter if they watch people smoke on TV, Vape on TV, watch The news, watch a deranged maniac killing teenage school girls, etc...

Smokers smoke. every hour.

The sad part?

Our taxes paid these assholes to learn that:

"researchers found that the urge to smoke tobacco was much higher among daily smokers "

Another waste of time and money

It would have been interesting if the did the exact same study with a different group of people and the just made them watch regular daytime TV.

Oh wait, they did:

"No significant differences in tobacco smoking urge were identified among intermittent smokers across the three groups, according to the team."

So it's pretty even since these type of studies have a 10%+/- leeway.
