Dotbox 300W: Extremely Disappointed!

I got one and I don't care for it at all.
First, yes the fit and finish is superb, close to iphone / macbook quality.
But that's where the good ends unfortunately.
For $200 I really wish they just went with a DNA250 and got it done!
But no! They have a proprietary board and TBH, it SUCKS!
It takes FOREVER to ramp up especially after sitting. Sometimes it feels like it's not even working.
And 300W? Forget that. Maybe if the planets and moons align perfectly.
I've tried many builds and ONLY see over 200W if they're in the .2OHM range.
At least the display actually shows what it's firing at.
The .12OHM T12V12 coil on the new Smok TFV12? Barely hits 100W. Pathetic.
And the lipo can do it. My DNA200s with 1300mAh 3S lipo can reach 200W on nearly everything I hitch to them.
I haven't tried TC but I heard it's a disaster as well.
If this isn't fixed via a firmware update then I have two words for this box. SHELF QUEEN.
Or sell it to some dotmod enthusiast that doesn't care or know better. ;)

Yeah. Vapnfagan did not give it a good review. Said TC is just terrible. Seems like it's all show and no go. Lol.

Variety's the very spice of life, that gives it all it's flavour.

Its sad that it seems like you are paying just for the looks basically. It does look great. Nice fit and finish but, why in the hell would you use such a bad battery and crappy chipset on something that you would put such great build quality in with that price?!
Better off just buying an actual DNA mod.

Correct me if im wrong but, I thought regulated devices prevented power loss as the battery drained? So, basically its a mech with a chip and lipo?

Regulated devices will buck/boost battery voltage as needed. This board appears to be limiting voltage too much into lower builds so that the actual wattage when firing is much lower than set for. A .15OHM coil is not an unreasonable load. My $50 Koopor Primus can do 300W with three decent 18650s into such a load. No problems. It's hard to get over 150 watts on the Dotbox 300 on most builds that really shine with that kind of power.

Being that it costs $200 USD (and I'm not even talking about it being made in China), I find it ridiculous that it's actually worse to vape on than a Sigelei 213. Daniel needs to review one ASAP.

I do like the looks and build quality. I really hope there is a firmware update that fixes its painful shortcomings.

I haven't checked the fitment (I'm sure it won't) but it would be cool if I could drop a DNA 250 board in this box. They're running about $65 on ebay for board and display. If there is a nitpick on physical design it would be that the 510 isn't centered on top. There's room to mount it dead center and that's where it should be.

Is it already out of production? Dotbox 300 isn't on Dotmod site, just the 75 version. Too bad, such a well designed device and so many disappointed users.
