Drilling air holes

I just started drilling the air holes in my pulse g. Factory is maybe a little bit bigger than my .400 bit. I'm starting with a .465. I only use single coils (for now), is it worth while to drill both holes? Or should I tape the other off? Or leave it alone?

Well I drilled one hole to .0465" (#56 bit). Still good flavor, vapor seems to have improved. I'm about half through the life of this wick. So I'm thinking I'll stop for now until rebuild time. Our maybe I'll get bored tonight, & drill some more.... Next size up I have is .0550" (#54). This is the kit I'm using IMAG0312_1.jpgthe biggest size is just over 1/16", at which point I can use power

If it is a dual coil atty with two fixed holes and you are vaping a single coil, break a toothpick off in the hole that is not facing the coil. You will see much better vapor production instantly.

I use a diamond cone drill bit similar to this. My ideal single coil hole is close to 1/16 because i like a cool vape with plenty of cloud production. With this kind of bit. You can make the whole bigger a little at a time until you find your preferred vape.

I don't have anything like that at home. I've got some carbide burrs at work, but that's way too aggressive for this.

I rebuilt my pulse earlier. Still about the same draw. I started drilling to .0550". After about an hour of going by hand, chucked it up in the makita. Broke the bit within minutes. Back to hand drilling, fucking yay.... Finally finished after about 80 minutes. Better performance for now. Donno what size it is now, less than the 0550" I started with as I broke that one. I'll be bringing home my caliper tomorrow & measure my oddball bits.

If you are going with the single coil in the Pulse, is it safe to assume you are using the chamber reducer? If so, go ahead and drill out both holes to save you from doing it later when/if you decide to go with a dual coil build. That's what I did, and from time to time when I revert to single coil, the reducer blocks off the other hole quite well.

Yep, single coil with reducer. I thought about doing both holes, too much effort for now. Currently I have no plans to go dual coil. But, I may get adventurous one day.

Wouldn't be so bad if the top cap weren't so damn thick.
