I read the whole article, I will continue to follow Dr. Michael Siegel's study. It wasn't the e cigs that got me to stop smoking, it was my personal vape device. It allowed me to drop the stinkies overnight, I also dropped the cigars and my pipes. I was a 2 pack a day smoker, I smoked anywhere from 3 to 5 cigars a day and also used about 2 ounces of pipe tobacco a week...Heavy smoker for 23 years. I love how affective it was for me, and for so many of us. We need to do a study with the actual open source vape devices in comparison to the cigalikes. That will knock their socks off.
