How so? Police said there was evidence corroborating his statement...You investigated the scene, or simply believe it is not possible e-cigarettes actually explode, leading to accidents and injury?

Looks like a pretty basic release-driven story, filed by someone with volume to meet and without resources to investigate on their own. Basically the cops said so, so that's what we're reporting. Not uncommon.
