IStick Pico 21700 Box Mod Features:
ELLO Tank Features:
How it is packaged:
The box has two tiers. It has foam insert on the top where you will find the mod, your 4ml Expansion Glass, coil reference guide and a warning card. When you remove the foam insert; you will find the instruction manuals, the USB cord and coil (HW1-C 0.25ohm) also will have the spare parts that will include the chimney expansion tube. You will also find the 18650 adaptor in the bottom of the box also. The 0.3 ohm coil will come installed in the tank.
Kit Includes:
Description:
The iStick Pico 21700 is the newest addition to the Pico family. It has a maximum wattage of 100 watts, and is compatible with 21700 or 18650 battery’s. It also has full temperature control suite (Ni, Ti, and SS). Along with a TCR function with 3 memory slots. It has a 2A on board charging, you can adjust watts in .1 increments and it will fire as low as 1.0 watts. The display is a nice 0.91” OLED screen that is clear and easy to read. They have updated the menu system and the kit introduces the new HW1- C coil.
The IStick Pico 21700 comes in Greenery, Black, Hot Pink, Grey, Brushed Silver, Silver
Operation:
The menu system has been improved and it’s made to be simple. Click the fire button 5 times to turn on. Once you have it on, hold the fire and + button simultaneously to get to the main menu. Once there you use the + / - buttons to scroll. You use the fire button to make your selection. Everything else from that point is very self-explanatory and user friendly, they have changed the menu choices to a set of icons. To change you mode you press the fire button 3 times rapidly to scroll through the modes. When on a temp control mode clicking the fire button 4 times allows you to change the wattage. To turn off you click the fire button 5 times. Basically it is the same operation as all the Pico’s.
Tank:
The Ello tank will break down into 5 pieces. It breaks apart very easy, you will have the base, coil, Glass, top ring; fill cap then your drip tip. When using the expansion glass that came with the kit you will need to install the expansion tube that came in the bag of spare parts. All you need to do is screw it on (hand tight) and put your tank back together. Everything comes apart and goes back together very easy. To fill you slide the cap back, the tank is marked open on one side so you know where to push. It slides open and closes very easy.
Talk about the Mod:
The Pico 21700 stayed true to its original form apart from it being larger to accommodate the 21700 battery (400mAh / 30A). With it being larger for the battery now it can hold a tank up to 25mm.When you first open the package the battery will be inside the mod. You have to remove it and take off the plastic insulator. It is clear and hard to see, it is located on the negative side of the battery. The threading on the battery cap was hard to get started and it does not go on smoothly. The more it is taken on and off it seems to be working better. Even with the larger size the Pico feels very comfortable in the hand and is also on the light side, even with a 21700 battery installed. You do get the extended battery life with the 21700; I am averaging about 7 hours on a full charge. That of course is going to very how you vape. That will solve the issue of carrying a extra battery with you. I get about 3 to 4 hours when running a 18650 battery, depending how I am vaping that day. There was never a miss fire and it seemed to fire quite quickly. I cannot detect any button rattles, I can’t verify or have the equipment to get the data but it seems like wattage might be off once you start getting up there in wattage. As far as TC goes it works, however it took some time to get the settings and my temp was lower and watts higher than normal. It did not kick me out all day and over all the TC is showing signs of improvement. All in all it is my Pico but on steroids with a higher wattage limit.
Talk about the Tank:
The Ello uses the HW family of coils. You have a choice to run the tank as 2ml tank or a 4ml tank. It is top fill and the size of the drip tip is a 810.If you want to run it as a 4ml tank all you do is screw on the extension pipe and switch to the larger supplied glass. To extend the tank to 4ml simply screw on the extension pipe and switch to the larger supplied glass section. I ran about 3 tanks as a 2 ml and then switched it out to the 4ml. If there was a difference in flavor I could not tell. There are no leaks and this tank fits this mod nicely. It is a top fill tank that slides back to fill.
Coils
The kit introduces the HW1-C coil featuring a ceramic wrapped wick system. In the kit you will receive a HW2 0.3ohm coil (pre-installed) with a rating of 30-70W with a best rating of 45 to 60 watts. The HW1-C coil has a rating of 25 to 50 watts and a best of rating of 35 to 40 watts. I used both and both were flavorful and gave off some clouds. When using the new HW1 – C it did produce some better flavor along with clouds. There is a difference to me and I enjoyed using this coil. I experience no wicking issues while using either of these coils. You have a total of 5 choices for coils, so you should be able to find one that suits you just fine.
Overall
I really like the Pico 21700, but I am one that likes the Pico family of mods. The size, being pocket friendly and the weight are great. It is easy to carry around if you’re out and about and with it being a 21700 battery mod it could take away from having to carry a spare battery. It feels solid and dependable. Even with the larger size it still could be a nice stealth vape. Now if you’re like me and love your Pico you will absolutely love this mod for the reasons I just mentioned, the tank is a nice tank that gives you flavor and clouds. Plenty of choices in coils, so there should be no problem finding one suited for you. The new HW1-C coil is a nice coil and I hope more choices of this coil are on the horizon. I only have a couple things that came to mind as far as cons. It would be nice if they included a 510 drip tip adapter, and they need to work some more on the TC. Pico’s have always been a good reliable mods and I don’t see this one being any different.
This is just my opinion, this is a very nice addition to the Pico family and Eleaf should see continued success with the Pico 21700.
