Entourage didn't end its TV run with the best of finales; it offered too much last minute happiness from out of nowhere for too many of its main characters. Magically, things were going to work out for them despite the incredible hardships and issues that had been building. With a movie however, all of that closure (whether or not it was deserved) had to disappear – no conflict, no film.
It is almost by necessity then that the movie opens by immediately dismantling so much of the series' last episode. Vince's marriage is over, having lasted less than two weeks; Eric's on-again relationship with Sloan is off-again; Ari has taken a new job and is returning to Hollywood; and Drama's TV show, which had been testing through the roof, has been cancelled.
