Description:

The ESPION Kit consists of a ESPION box mod and the ProCore X tank. ESPION mod has a 1.45 inch large TFT color display, centered 510 and user-friendly menu system. The ESPION has a 200w max output, Buck-Boost Technology and full temperature control suite (Ni, Ti, and SS). Along with TCR function with 3 memory slots. It has a real time clock and has 5 colors you can choose from for the background of the screen.

The ESPION comes in Gunmetal, Black and Blue

Operation:

The menu system has been made to be simple. Click the fire button 5 times to turn on. Once you have it on, click the fire button 3 times in order to get to the main menu. Once there you use the plus and minus buttons to scroll and your power button to make your selection. Everything else from that point is very self-explanatory and user friendly. You also can use the power button from the main screen to change from having a clock to showing your watts or your choice in vaping modes. To do this you hold the power button for 3 seconds. To turn off you click the fire button 5 times.

Tank:

The tank will break down very easy, you will have the base, coil, Glass, top ring; fill cap then your drip tip. When using the expansion glass that came with the kit you will need to install the expansion tube that came in the bag of spare parts. All you need to do is screw it on (hand tight) and put your tank back together. Everything comes apart and goes back together very easy. I experienced no leaking any of the times I had taken it apart. To fill the tank it is a slide and lift cap. It had me going crazy at first and it may be hard the first few times. The more I opened it the easier it became. There is a “dot” on the top, you push in that area and it will unlock and then you can lift. I have colored mine in so you can see what I am talking about. It does not come colored.

First Thoughts:

Nice looking, that was my first thing that came to mind. Second was how nice the brushed silver firing button looked against the black. The screen is clear and bright and how the lines run vertically it adds a classy look.

Talk about the Mod:

The ESPION really performs well. When you hit the fire button it fires, there is little to no hesitation and it hits hard. When I threw on different RDA”s with a few different builds the mod had no issues. The pre heat works well but never needed to keep it on. I cannot detect any button rattles and the mod does not get hot at all. With going with the centered 510 pin you are able to hold up to 28mm tank, I can verify that it hold a 25 mm with no problem and from eyeing it they are probably correct in saying 28mm. The power button next to the =/- bar is a nice touch. It will turn your screen off if you are trying to save battery power, along with a short cut to change vaping modes. However this is not a on and off switch. The mod will fire after you turned off the power to the screen. The battery door is a flip type door. You need to be sure you have equal pressure before pushing into slots. It is no big deal but as I have been told some are not fans of this style of door and at times it can be difficult to close. Once closed you don’t have any rattle at all. The pre heat works along with your TC. The USB port is on the front at the bottom. It does have 2A balanced charging, 0.1 increments and you can upgrade you firmware.

Talk about the Tank:

The ProCore x tank uses the ProC series of coils. You have a choice to run the tank as 2ml tank or a 4.5ml tank. It is top fill, to fill the top is pushed inwards then it pops up revealing the fill ports and locks back into place very nicely. The tank is quite airy, I found myself closing the air flow a bit more than usual. I left it as a 2ml tank, I liked the looks. When installing the expansion glass you will find the expansion tube in with your spare parts. Screw it on and install the glass. Once everything is back together it seals nice and tight. The only thing I didn’t like about the tank is the drip tip. There is a metal tube on top of the top cap; the supplied drip tip goes over this tube. So it acts more as a sleeve than a normal drip tip. So you are stuck using the supplied drip tip.

Coils

In the kit you will get the ProC1( 0.4) and the ProC – S (0.25). The ProC1( 0.4) coil has a rating of 40 - 80 watts with a best rating of 55 to 65 watts. ProC – S (0.25) coil has a rating of 25 to 55 watts and a best rating of 30 to 40 watts. I used both and both were flavorful and gave off some nice clouds. I experience no wicking issues while using either of these coils. You have a total of 5 choices for coils, in the kit you will find a guide for coils and it shows what the “best” range is for that coil. They have the ProC1 – S listed as a MTL coil. I did not find this tank or coil to be a MTL set up. I will let the folks who MTL judge that. That coil worked very well at a 43 w for me while using the ProC1 – S coil.

ProC Coils available

• ProC1 (0.4ohm) DL 40-80W / Best 55 – 65W
• ProC1-S (0.25ohm) MTL 25-55W / Best 30 – 40W
• ProC2 (0.15ohm) DL 30-70W / Best 45-60W
• ProC3 (0.2ohm) DL 40-130W / Best 70 – 90W
• ProC4 (0.15ohm) DL 50-110W / Best 60-80W

Overall

I really like the Espion. It hits hard thanks to the buck boost and can handle anything thrown at it. The size, the clean look and how it feels in the hand are great. The 1.45 inch large color display looks nice and is easy to read in or outside. The centered 510 is always a winner. The tank is a nice tank that gives you flavor, clouds and matches nicely. With plenty of choices in coils so there should be no problem finding one suited for you. As far as any cons and I had trouble finding any. So it is more of what I didn’t like about it would be only being able to use the drip tip that came with the kit. Definitely in no way a deal breaker.

This is just my opinion but I think Joyetech has a winner in the ESPION.
