Evic Tron Tank

I'm not sure why they decided to hide the airflow. My only concern is noise. It might be normal, really quiet or really noisy but there's no knowing until we see a review. If you didn't like the eGo One you will not like the TRON. It should vape the same as it uses the same coil heads. I HATE the eGo CL coil heads with a passion. Hate hate hate. But I love the CLR heads. If you've already tried the Ego One with the CLR (rebuildable) heads and still didn't like the tank I wouldn't get the TRON. The only difference other than aesthetics is the hidden airflow. Why they plan to include the same craptastic CL coils from the eGo One is beyond me. If they redesigned the CL heads with larger feed holes it might be usable but the pictures look like the same old junk.

I'll happily get the new VTC kit with a TRON tank but I'll toss the heads and use the rebuildables.

Thanks for the feedback. You pretty much confirmed my concerns about the tank. I'll probably wait for Joytech to just offer the box and avoid getting the kit. I only used the Ego one a couple of times when I had the Evic and that was just to try out a Ti coil for the first time.

I highly recommend the Delta II with the Ti or Ni LVC coils. Great vape and flavor on mid wattage boxes. The LVC coils are beastly in comparison to the wimpy CL coils.

Although it looks like Joye is phasing it out? The Temp control coils no longer show on the Delta II page and the Delta II itself is on sale on the Joyetech site. Maybe a Delta III/TRON Mega on its way? Hope so, as long as they ditch the stupid vertical slot windows, so annoying!!

A lot of vapers are either concerned about or they're sensitive to nickel, or can't stand the metallic taste of titanium and nickle. I can't stand the taste. It's so odd that Joyetech didn't roll out a stainless steel coil head for the new SS TC VTC Mini kit. They have a mod that does temp control with three types of wire and they don't include a coil for the new wire in the full kit. It seems like they missed a good opportunity. Well, if they put it in a lousy CL head it would've sucked anyway.

Well since the software update just came out it may take a while for them to ramp up SS coil production.

Yeah here's hoping for SS LVC coils. The Delta II on top of the VTC mini seems like a killer combo. Works great on my vt40. As it stands I prefer the Ti coils by far over the Ni. Seems to be cooler more flavorful, less prone to the occasional dry hit and I don't care for any ill effects that Nickel may cause.

Right you are. I didn't take into consideration that it's only a firmware upgrade that give it its new capabilities. However, they are offering some cool new colors with the Tron Tank Starter kits. I like the gold and the red one.

But a gold Tron tank? Really Joyetech?

You're better off waiting for the C-3PO version rumored to be released next month. 14k gold tank AND coils!

I got the Evic Mini with the Ego One Mega tank. Hated that tank. Maybe mine in particular was just a bad one. It constantly would get stuck to the base, by that I mean I literally had to pry it off with a towel and a wrench.....ugh. It also spit and leaked all over the place anytime my juice was below half. I purchased the Tron tank from myvaporstore and I love it! No leaking, doesn't get stuck to base and it's quieter. Plus it just looks bad ass.

I use ego one (and wismec amor) tanks often, but only with the clr coils. (I also use the new egrip that uses the same coils. I might try the tron tanks at some point simply because they have a larger window. That's why I like the amor tanks which are basically a frosted ego one but they are hard to find (find them at totally wicked). I suspect there is not much difference between the tron and the ego one.

From my experience the tron tank is okay at best, been using the tron-s for 2-3 weeks.
Performance would be better with better coils, and as most of you know joyetech doesn't
have SS coils for it. The tron had a little bit of a whistle at certain times but nothing crazy.
Using the .5 ti coils, the cl 1, clr1, .2 ni did not whistle for me.
Air flow seems okay for what the coils require. the deck or base whatever its called can't
be taken apart to clean which isn't a deal breaker for me since I clean the whole thing
everytime i change coils which seems to be more often then not. When I first got the kit the evic
mini and tron tank, the tank screwed onto the box as it should and how it looks in
advertisements with the little window dead centre of the side of the box. Last week i put
the tank back on after cleaning it, I noticed the window on the tank was no longer centered
on the side of the box but 30°-40° the the left. Its kinda weird because I know i never over
tightened it and when it was new it finished screwing to the tank centred with perfect resistance
from the threads. Maybe the threads are soft, if so wow cheap threads.
What I don't like is when cleaning the base the air hole is closed and cant be reopened
easily when its off the tank. It would be nice if it could be opened and closed while cleaning
to make sure any juice/gunk gets cleaned away. this is because when unscrewing it from
the tank it closes the air hole (its one big hole). hope i explained that well enough.
Filling on the side is okay, lots of room for a plastic tip, just barely enough room for a glass
dropper. The drip tip is cheap plastic double o rings and good seal. not great for mouth inhale on clr1,
could be bigger for .5 Ti. Seems like they choose a size in the middle. I got the grey model,
the finish on it is good. Not bad for a kit, wouldn't buy one on its own just for the hell of it.

Could you just use the CLR coils and use SS wire for it? This is what I intend to do, if the nearby store ever gets those coils in. I don't really care what resistance they are, I plan on rebuilding it in any case.

Cheers,

Absolutely. I've been doing exactly that for the past couple months. Both of my tanks have CLR heads with 26 gauge coils in them right now (one is 316L and the other is 304 SS). I make spaced coils and use them exclusively in TC but they work just as well in power mode. I've also made and used twisted SS wire coils and it works in the CLR heads also.

Although I have no use for it, I'm ordering either a Ego Mega or Tron tank just to complete my Evic VTC mini kit. I never thought I would have a tough time deciding between two things I really don't want.

If you don't want either tank, why not try out a Cubis? It's the newest Joyetech tank and might be a more interesting addition to your collection than the Mega or the Tron. You can always pick up a Tron later in the year when they go on clearance.

Great idea. I'll be ordering one when I get home tonight. Thanks

I have the tron tank and from day one it has leaked, it comes out the bottom when I open the airflow even a little it leaks the more I open the airflow the worse it leaks, I like the tank but can't use it because of it leaking. I even tried not filling the tank full but that didn't help. I know because of the airflow there's no o ring or seal but I think it needs something. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've already got the Cubis and like it but, no rba heads until.. (just ordered 2 from sweet-vapes)02/28.
I really like the top fill and leak proof design.
Not going to keep ordering coils and the stock ones look to be a PITA for rebuilding.
So meanwhile it's collecting dust.

I just wish they had the Tron available in the SS finish.
Might have to try a Mega in SS first.
I'm just gonna rebuild the 1 ohm CLR heads anyway.

Mostly just curious if it will perform anything close to my Davide(PT2).
The CLR heads look to be easier to rebuild than the Kanger PT2 heads.
Not that they're terrible or anything but just kinda small for SS wire.

Have you tried swapping coil heads yet?
And are you using the CL or CLR type heads.

Well the Mega, (or rather the XL), is only 2.5ml so it's a no go for me.

Ordered a Black Tron and a pack of 1 ohm CLR heads, (better with 4ml capacity).
At least it should look Ok on my black RX200 anyway.
Around 30 bucks total with shipping so not too bad for satisfying my curiosity.

The eGo One Mega is a big upgrade from the PT2. The CLR heads work great with any wire up to 24 gauge. I use stainless steel exclusively. They are much easier to wick and rewick than the PT2 heads. A number of people have said that their eGo One tanks leaked, while other eGo One tanks never leak at all. It seems like some are defective right out of the package. I have two of them and neither one has ever leaked at all. Seriously, not a drop in months of daily use with the CLR heads. They're definitely an little hit or miss, so if you get a leaky one it's worth exchanging it.

That said, I rebuild the .5 ohm heads with SS and use them at 20w in TC. I'm not sure if the 1 ohm heads work differently due to the tighter airflow. I find that 2.5mm coils wick noticeably faster than 2mm coils. If you rebuild the head with a 2.5mm coil (the stock coil size) and you find that it wicks a little too fast you can always tighten the juice flow control ring or try a 2mm coil. The .5 ohm heads definitely work best with a 2.5mm coil but I'm not sure about the 1 ohm heads.

The tank comes with a kanthal, Ni & Ti CL head. The insulators and positive pins from the CL heads fit the CLR heads perfectly so it's a good idea to keep them for spares. Hope some if this helps.

I would say dont bother. Ive owned the Mega tank and it was only semi ok with the CLR heads. Regular heads are tiny, with no airflow whatsoever. Tron is just a different look with pretty much the same performance since it takes the same coil heads. I watched a review video and it was painful seeing the guy take a drag.

After owning a Crown tank its very hard to go back to something with less airflow.

I ended up buying an ego one mega and I really like it. I had one a while ago that came with an Evic but I never used it. The new one I bought isn't replacing something like my TFV4 or Herakles Plus but it makes for a nice, less intense vape. I'm using with with the stock Ti coils and it works great.

Very wide open airflow isn't for everyone. That said, different coil heads have vastly different airflow for this tank.

The Crown does have terrific airflow, but skt hit the nail on the head. These tanks are not designed to give the same vape as a Crown. They're more like a Lemo 2 with replaceable heads. It's made for people who prefer a restrictive lung hit and don't want to burn through 10ml of ejuice a day. That's an enormous part of the market.

I got the 1 ohm heads well knowing they've got a smaller hole.
I prefer a tighter draw but not PT2 tight, well, when using the stock base anyway.
Will be for above ohm MTL only.
Just figured the Tron holds more juice so...

Coil head? Is that the part the coil screws into? I have had 2 different coils in it with same results. If your talking about the part the coil screws into no I have not tried that didn't know you could buy that part alone, I'll check into that

Na, I just meant the atomizer, the "atomizer head" contains the coil & wick and screws into the base.
But the stock CL ones tend to be iffy from what I've heard so I'd get some CLR atomizers to try instead.
