“I don’t know why the FDA and the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] want to regulate e-cigarettes as if they were tobacco and regulate them right off the market, but that seems to be their plan,” Ross said

That's been the FDA intent from 2009. Congress / lawsuits can only stop the FDA now.

Yeah sure. I'm sure they would be like, oh, they're regulating themselves, never mind.

I used to work for big tobacco. The Master Settlement Agreement which handed over tobacco regulations to the FDA (taking place in 2009) was entered into by the 5 largest tobacco companies and 46 states. I can't understand how they can extend their reach into the area of vaping considering A) no vapor company (outside of Vuse, Blu, and Mark 3 and possibly Njoy) are properties of the tobacco companies that agreed to the oversight. And B) there is NO tobacco in these things! I'm no lawyer, but that doesn't seem to make sense even to me. I also worked in the aquatic pest control business, and we were spraying ALL kinds of deadly chemicals into the water and onto plants-but guess what? The companies (Monsanto being the largest) that manufactured the products were ALSO the companies that decided what levels were considered "safe". So to say that a company that produced poison specifically made to be sprayed in your lakes and water treatment facilities can regulate themselves, i would be inclined to believe that something as simple as e-liquid companies are more than capable of doing the same. That's my 2¢ on the matter haha

THIS...
This is precisely the ignorant garbage attitude that thinking people want to avoid.
Fuck that self-pity bullshit. Educate yourself... Learn to form an independent thought.

The most important industries in the nation are self-regulating...
Ever wonder why there is minimal or no gov't regulation for doctors? It's because they regulate themselves. (AMA)
Ever wonder why there is minimal or no gov't regulation for aircraft mfg's? It's because they regulate themselves. (AS-9102)

To remain ignorant is your privilege. But to puke it out publicly might draw a response.
You do realize that only 15 percent of medical doctors belong to the AMA.

We all know it's about the money and had nothing to do we our health concerns. They would rather have us still smoking the cancer sticks so they can get the money. The big problem is we have federal, state, and local government wanting a piece of the action.

I had a long post about this in another thread earlier. Don't ever accept the reasons that THEY give you for what they are doing. All you have to do is figure out who benefits the most. FOLLOW THE MONEY!! Fistbump Mykline!

Blah blah blah. Your comparing e-cigs to the multi-trillion dollar medical and aviation industries? And you're calling me ignorant?

If the deeming regs pass without significant amendment it will be the end of technology. Technology will no longer be needed because we will have something much better and much more powerful. Magic.

In the amount of time it takes to sign the regulation, magic will be born. In that moment e-liquid with nicotine will become tobacco. E-liquid with no nicotine will become tobacco. Stainless steel, copper, brass mods will become tobacco. Borosilicate glass tanks will become tobacco. And these are just a few examples of what this new magic will be able to do. Think about it, this is transmutation like turning lead into gold. Just amazing when you think about it. And I thought magic was just in children's books. Silly me.

I guess the only real question is if they will sign the regs into law with a pen or a magic wand. Exciting times huh?
