Well it has been an exciting week so far, my order from Capella came in and TPA is in country!

The bad news is that I have to pay customs import tax, so on $230USD order from Capella, I had to pay an additional $90USD on tax, WOW! I really hope this is going to be good.

So here is a question for you vet DIYers out there. I have been using Perfumer's Apprentice and understand that most flavor mixes will total around 20% as their flavors tend to be mild.

So what about Capella? Here's a list of flavors that I got:

Apple Pie v2
Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble
Blueberry
Butter
Cinnamon Danish Swirl
Peaches and Cream v2
Peppermint
Pralines and Cream
Sweet Cream
Vanilla Custard

What % would you recommend I use with these flavor concentrates? Your input would be appreciated.

the rule of thumb for both tfa and cap is between 20 and 30%, Capella, you will use more of..

edit 4/22/2015 (thanks @Pauly Walnuts )

for total amount of recipe.... not to exceed between 20-30% of total recipe..

make sense now? :)

Oh No! Really? Cap is so much more expensive than PA.

Thanks for the reply.

a lot of their stuff I use anywhere from 8-12%
is why i dont use them often.. maybe it is just me.. but i like creating my own danish swirly sticky bun lol.. :p

but.. they are good to learn from, Bill.. I'd start off using 5% and then bump it up to where you like..
who knows, you might like to go lighter.. :)

I've used:
Apple Pie v2 - This ones really really good. More baked cinnamon and less crust than FA apple pie, delicious apple, emphasis on the filling. When I ran out of this a year ago I was using it solo happily @ 10-12%. IMO if you're making an apple pie vape, this and/or FA apple pie is mandatory.
Butter - 2-4 drops per 10ml gives a buttery (not sweet) finish than can be tasted/experienced on the lips. Baddass in small amounts for bakery.
Peaches and Cream v2 - I stack 3% of this with 2% FA white peach and after a week its OMG juicy in whatever.
Pralines and Cream - just tested in my oatmeal for the first time, delicious and slightly richer and much darker than TPA version
Vanilla Custard - v1 or v2? Lots of info here on the latter

I use a lot of Capella's. When checking new flavors out I usually mix them stand alone at 5% - 8% to get a feel for them. Depends on your device though. I use drippers and bottom feeders and find that with Cap and TPA I rarely go over 12% total flavor in a mix, but that's just me and maybe that would be a lot higher if I was using a kayfun or a clearo or what have you.

Same here. I mix for a dripper thats on top of a sig150, mostly. My caps/tfa mixes rarely need to go higher than 13%, and when they do its not by much.
When I mix for my kayfun or protank, I have to use at least 20%.

Yep. I always wondered about that but never tested it because when I left clearos behind, I left them behind and when I DIY it's for the device I'm using. Good thing I'm not a vendor. *grin* I would hate to try and make a juice that works equally well in a clearo and a 0.4 Ohm dripper. Well, hate is a strong word but, it would be a supreme pain in the ass.

I'm just saying that I'm not surprised that you found a stronger flavor is required for a tank or a clearo.

Oh, and, whatever keeps you off the smokes is the best kit in the world. I might be snobby about my personal kit, whatever you use to stay off of the cigarettes is aces in my book and I will not cast stones.

I don't know if Capella has changed the strength of some of their flavors, but blackberry, lemon sicily, and pralines and cream are very strong to me. I never use blackberry at more than 4-5% because it tends to gain momentum as it ages.

Just my 2 cents lol but when I test Capellas I do a 3-4% test and to me that is enough. My suggestion is to start low and work up. and please note that either of Capellas Vanilla Custard need a good long steep.:D Best of luck to you:)
