I've not been vaping for all that long, but I've gotten hooked on it. Still haven't had a cig since I started. I've been primarily using an iStick with a Subtank mini. I am also building a box with the SX350 chip, and I have an IPV4 on the way. Anyways - a guys I work with has several unregulated mods and I got sick of him out-clouding me on breaks so I bought myself an Anubis clone. I got the Anubis primarily for financial reasons as it was $25 and came with the RDA, so it was hard to pass up.
Here it is:

Overall I like it. I checked it over when I got it and the build quality is actually very nice. The threads are smooth and tight, locking ring works great, juice well seems pretty deep, and it came with extra screws and o-rings. The only initial complaints I had were that it came with these little baby coils and the 'wick" looked like a couple pieces of rope you would get a Lowes. I also wanted more contrast in the engraving so I color-filled it black. I had it shipped to work so I couldn't do anything about the coils, but I did replace the wick with cotton that was in one of my Subtank boxes so I could try it out. On my way home I stopped by a vape shop and they built me new (much better) coils. Now it's running at .3 Ω and it fires quite well. I'm thinking I want to stick a better RDA on there at some point, and run it a bit hotter. Still blows pretty well, though.

I think I still prefer the tank so far. I get much better flavor out of the tank. Maybe that has to do with the build or the RDA, but as this is the first mech I've used, I cannot be sure. I do like to use this one on my breaks at work so I can switch flavors whenever I want.

Nice looking mech there! Yeah, flavor has everything to do with the build and the RDA. For me, the smaller chamber RDAs like an RM2 or IGO-S just kill everything for flavor but vapor production is just moderate where something like a Trident or the other bigger chamber atties are great for vapor production but really mute the flavor. Coil position, air flow and how you wick have an amazing impact on flavor at least in my experience. My advice is to buy more stuff and play around :D

Nice looking mod there - what kind of batteries and charger did you pick up to go with it?

The wick they gave you is probably silica - haven't seen many people using that for quite some time...good call on swapping to cotton. Now get yourself some wire and an ohm meter and start experimenting with building some coils of your own - though I wouldn't really recommend going below 0.3 for now...

I got a set of Sony VTC4 batteries and the Efest LUC V4 charger. I originally got them to use in the SX350 box, but since it's still not been completed they have been assigned to mech duty instead, and I ordered another pair of batteries for future use in the SX box. This just reminded me that I need a third set of batteries for the IPV4 as well.

I'm looking at the Mutation X now. Any recommendations on other RDA's are welcome, of course.

I am also planning on an ohm meter/wire purchase. Even though the shop will do coils free, I prefer to do things myself whenever possible. Still have a lot of reading to do.

Good plan - if those VTC4s are authentic they'll work great for a much, though you could probably save some coin getting Samsung or LG pairs for your regulated mods - just make sure to keep them in married pairs.

I like the Mutation X series quite a bit, have a few myself. A bit leaky if you're not careful, but a nice platform for easy builds.

I got the batteries from Varitube when I bought the SX chip so I would think they are authentic. Nice to see you are pleased with the Mutation. Seems to get good reviews overall.

I use vtc 3 and 4 exclusively in mechs. For the rdna40 i use lg he2 20a batteries though. Seems like a waste to me to put the 30a batteries on a regulated mod. Thats a huge lookin mech, looks bad ass though.

Well... I'd rather go overboard on the amps than go cheap and risk going underboard. I'm not totally up to speed on battery requirements and don't mind paying a couple extra bucks for safety.
