Hello everyone, i have been vaping only on regulated TC mods, from iStick 60, Nebox, Cuboid, RX200 etc. My first batteries were red LG's and i quickly realized that the 25R's were available from many reputable dealers in the states (XTAR etc) for good prices and i preferred the vaped over the LG's. I have the Noisy Cricket headed home with the indestructible atty and want to order a couple new married sets. Just last week i ordered a set of HE4's, yellow wrap and i am perceiving a better charge life than i got from 25R's, is that all in my head? I know that charge life usually mean lower A, but they seem like good batteries and was considering more of these. What would you suggest that's affordable and extremely safe for the cricket? from the way i usually build, i'm going to find it difficult to stay as low as recommended, so assume that i'll mostly be vaping near the .25 range.

If youre vaping on a 60 watt tc mod and going from that to the cricket at .25ohms will blow your socks off.... thats around 219watts.

Yea dude, please go do some research and googling before you get that Cricket. Its not a normal mech, its wired for series, meaning the voltage is doubled verses a normal single or parallel box. On a fresh set of batteries your going to be pushing 8.4 volts vs the normal 4.2. Building down to 0.25ohm isnt just gonna be a hot vape, its dumb. Youll be pulling 33 amps. Not sure what the CDR is on the HE4s, but most batteries are 20amp up to 30amp, so even on a good set its still too much.

Go read before you wind up blowing your face off.

Don't even think about anything less than VTC4s or HB6s or LG HD2Cs in that machine. Don't build that RDA below about .5 on that machine-- .7 would be safer-- and make sure the 510 center pin on the atty is well protruding. The Cricket has a suicide connector.

As members have stated above, the Cricket is not a mech to be used if you don't understand Ohm's law and battery safety. The mod is a hybrid top cap, which means the center positive conductor on the atomizer makes direct connection with the positive post of the battery. If your atomizer does not have a positive center pin that protrudes 1mm or more, you will have a direct short of your batteries. This is nothing to fuck with, the batteries will vent quickly in a series configuration.

Series mods were meant for coils above .75 Ohms. Preferably above 1 Ohm for safety. A battery that is overstressed will fail. A set of batteries in series will fail twice as fast.

Take the time and read up and learn Ohms law. The only safety on this Mod is the stuff between your ears.

To answer your other question, the yellow LG HE4 is pretty similar to the red LG HE2 so if you didn't like the red ones you probably won't like the yellow ones.

Maybe he'll like the brown ones. I do.

i ordered the LG HB6's last week, and then the daily deal on he Sony's from VaporDNA popped up so i ordered thos as well. I'll most likely just run the cheaper Sony's for the most part and keep the HB6 for when i feel the need to run below .45, which will likely not happen. Thanks for the HB6 suggestion, i hadn't even heard of them, but nice to see authentic 30A continuous. i will be careful and not blow my face off, thanks for the concerns and cautionary advice. Ill admit to not fully researching before posting, as i knew it's be a long 3 weeks from China, but i do understand that i shant be going under a half if i want to be safe, which i do and watch my 510's and take my time.

i gotta say, I absolutely love this mod. I honestly didn't think the difference would be so contrasting that it would make vaping so much better than what say an RX200 or other high power regulated device. the difference is blatant and it's overwhelmingly better than chipset devices. Don't ask me why the vape is better running 150w on the Cricket rather than a Cuboid, but it just is. The excellent vaping experience is only made better by the form of the Noisy Cricket, fits so perfect in the hand and coupled with its weightlessness, it would make the perfect pocket device, if not for the fact it would be somewhat dangerous in your pocket....

here she is next to my wife's new PICO, which also a fantastic little device that puts out a respectable 75w and matches up quite well with the stubby little Moonshot.

I knew building anything exotic would be difficult on the Cricket, but I felt that I needed more meat than simply 26 and not a huge fan of Kanthal. My first attempt was with "twisted" Ti 28ga but it just couldn't stay above .3-ish with even 18 wraps on duals. I was happy to see that only my second attempt yielded somewhat desirable results at .48 duals, running 2x "twisted" 28ga SS316L on 2.5mm driver with 18 wraps each. I was going for a .54 or above to stay off that 20A line, but since I have some un-used VTC4's I figured these will be plenty safe. I can't imagine a better vape than this, even though I have some experimenting to do, these things vape amazing. Three days and I haven't even changed cotton, depite the 150+ watts. just love it, highly recommend this cricket to anyone. The indestructible aty has more room than you'd think from initial impressions and is really made for this mod.

thanks for the advice.

Flip the button and screw it down with the "top" of the threads, allows you to pocket it without an issue (as the plastic will be touching the battery instead of the metal) then just flip, screw and vape. Personally I find it a bit of a hassle so I have the pico for my "on the go" setup. Both 2 of my most used setups, the third being a Tres Equis clone.

I came to say just that ^^^^

I did it a few times, no problems. Its cool for if you only really vape during work breaks or something, but if your running errands or hopping in and outta stores where you only have a minute or 2 to pull a few hits, screwing that button off then back on is too big of a hassle.

i added another stronger spring to the insde of the button, as well as stretching the existing and then mildly work hardening it, the button keeps it's short throw, but is aligned better to avoid the mis-fires from {non}dead-center pushed and also increases the trigger weight to a confidence inducing 5# throw, more than enough to make me feel cuddly tissing in a shirt pocket, not quite thre for tossing in the jeans but it'll do nicely. think about a dual-recoil spring for a browning style tilt-barrel feed sidearm. ill post pic in the morn.
a couple questions, since i already have another Cricket on the way that i ordered this morning for dedicated experimentation with high power tanks, like moonshot/tornado assuming i cannot get the pin to flush through multiple testing, the iJoy Limitless (bottom feed) along with the Theroem looks like possible contenders as well. On my hunt for tanks i have only seen a general consensus that the V2 goblin mini has an appropriate pin for a tank atty that plays it safe, help me out if i am missing other options. I have a feeling that i will have a full collection of these mods, especially with the ne uncertainty for the slow ban in the states, the only think i would like to see from ths design is a slightly wider one that would comfortable fit the 24/25mm atty's. that and a higher priced line that was made of stronger materials, although i am going to experiment with age hardening by introducing precicpates in an auto-clavve after figuring out what alloy of AL is being used, with the rapid quench to trap the precipates into the AL promoting the discoloration and increasing the srength of the Al(up to 25 in some alloys of done correctly). anyways...... still freaking loves this fog machine.
