First mix with Inawera

I've been trying to come up with a different variation of HIC's Pina Colada. There is nothing at all wrong with the recipe itself, but I've not been completely happy with the taste of the FA Pineapple / Coconut combination. I've also tried mixing it using TFA's Pineapple and Coconut (as well as Coconut Extra). Neither combination tasted "just right" to me. Both combinations did taste really good. They just weren't exactly what I wanted.

I just got vape mail from Bull City Flavors (seems to be a great vendor - too bad they can't drive in a little snow & ice ) containing my first 3 Inawera flavors, Pineapple, Coconut, and Chocolate. Naturally, I went straight for a 50/50 mix of the Pineapple and Coconut at 1%. I didn't even bother to try them individually first. The pineapple smells amazing. Just going by smell alone, IWA seems to have the best pineapple of the three. I did a quick shake and vape and tested it. The flavor was exactly what I have been looking for. It seemed a little week, so I emptied my tank back into the bottle and added another 1% of each. After a quick shake, I tested it again. It was kinda yucky. I can't describe it. It was just off. I emptied the tank back into the bottle again and went out for the evening.

This morning, my tank ran dry, so I decided to try it again. Wow! It is perfect! This is a nearly perfect replication of the Pina Coladas that I was drinking during my last trip to Jamaica. I guess I didn't shake it enough yesterday.

Now it's time for me to incorporate these two into HIC's original recipe, which was pretty damn good despite the pineapple / coconut combination being a little "off". I think it's going to be great once I get the Jamaican Rum, Cream, and Lime back into it.

Yup, the Jamaican Rum & Cream really help, but I don't use any Lime...
Take a bit of fiddling to get the Pineapple/Coconut ratio balanced tho.

Yep.. I think I'll need something like. 1.5% Pineapple and 1.75% Coconut to get it right. For my taste 2% of each is just too strong. I don't like juice that has an overpowering amount of flavor. I like it to be strong, just not this strong.

I forgot to ask about the chocolate. It smells and tastes fantastic. The micro-drop I tasted directly was super strong. I'm thinking <1% on this one. Does that sound right?

INW Pineapple from there regular line is my favorite. The Shisha version not so much.

Jimi D is right, the INW pinacolada is good on it's own and Heabob, I like the Coconut Cookies as well. I really like Cocopilada too, tasty stuff.

I only have INW Chocolate Cream and Milk Chocolate but both of those are strong. Chocolate Cream I use in the 1% range, Milk Chocolate a little higher but usually not more than 2%.

I had the same problem mixing at 2%. Once I added 3% BOOM ! The creamy coconut kicked in like magic

To me, all of Inawera's fruits are amazing. Their peach is the holy grail ....I prefer their banana over FA, as well as their pineapple.

I am not even a fan of peach but the INW version is damn good.

INW fruits seem to be almost juicy tasting and bright, not dry which I love. There bakery and custard flavors are good but not wow like there fruit flavors. The waffle, biscuit and lemon cake can be good but there so potent just an extra drop in a 30ml bottle can mess up a mix. There almost too concentrated, makes them tough to work with and the flavors are not wow either, there just good.

Great, now I am going to mix a bunch of INW fruit flavors, it's like crack, need my fix....haha

I totally agree! Another of their "bright" flavors that I am completely enamored of is their marzipan. It's bright and zippy, so flavorful....FA marzipan is a wonderful flavor in its own right, and I use it often, but Inawera's version just "pops" in a mix. Try that one too!

Thanks for that! I'm about out of FA Marzipan and will add INW Marzipan to my buy list and compare them myself.

A bad batch is always a possibility (my first experience with FA banana comes to mind...hooked me up with a couple of burnt sweat sock vapes), but I've always loved FA's marzipan. But Inawera's is marzipan on steroids! That bright, happy flavor just says "TA DAAAA!!!" ..Lol!

That would be a decision for your taste buds. I use the same percentage as FA if subbing one for the other. In my experience, Inawera doesn't "take over," but it is more noticeable in a mix, just not in a brazen sort of way.

Speaking of Inawera, I find myself really liking the Cactus, juicy goodness with any fruit I've mixed so far. And I'm not big into fruits but the cactus really rounds them out for me and is way tastier than using any kind of sweetener imo.
