First Post - Modified Aspire Nautilus - AIRFLOW CHAMPION! lol

Thank you to all for having me here. I have been vaping for +/- 1 year and while I have not spent a ton of time on this forum I have found I enjoy the folks here above other boards and I am anxious to be more involved here.

(SIDE NOTE: while trying to post photos I keep getting the following error, I will post when I figure out what I am doing wrong:
The following error occurred

I have learned most of what I know from trial and error. I am sure there are lots and lots of mistakes I make daily, and I hope by sharing here I can learn and correct (and save a lot of money avoiding the "error" part!)

I wanted to kick things off with my modified Nautilus Aspire. This happened by accident originally, now I have 4 of them and 3 have been modified as you'll see below as I just LOVE the airflow from this modification.

When I first got my first Aspire I loved it immediately. However I was a bit disappointed with the lack of airflow. Well, it didn't take long for me to drop the thing, and it came apart. (we've all been there I am sure!). So, I made lemonade out of lemons.

I'd always thought that the rotating airflow ring was the root of all things evil and created by Satan himself (ok, I just didn't like it). So when I dropped it and the tank came apart in a particular fashion I just slid the darned thing off and gave it a go. OMG! What a difference it made!

I have since resorted to using a Dremel tool to cut the rings off the others so as to not have to pry the device apart (and weaken it in the process). The tank I use now has also had the largest hole drilled to afford even more flow.

Thoughts or comments? I'd love to hear them! Thanks again to all for having me here! Vape on my friends.

So you're getting air out of all four holes plus one of them is drilled out? That's a lot of airflow.

Yes indeed! And I love it just oh so much.

I just got the 4th tank yesterday and try-as-I-might, I just can't deal with the stock configuration.

I am still scouring the site trying to find out what I am doing wrong posting the pics. It would make so much more sense if I could add the pics...

Thanks for the reply, anxious to hear if anyone else has tried this or not!

The bottom portion of the tank is actually pressed on, and as I mentioned, if dropped properly it separates and makes the airflow ring able to just slide right off. Lucky accident, that one.

Post the pics to photobucket or some other service and then embed them using the image icon.

TEST

I have posted to DropBox and selected the "Share" option. When the dialog box opens I selected and copied the verbiage / link and then went back to this forum and clicked the photo icon and pasted the address from DropBox where indicated. On my end it looks broken when I see it (no pic, weird icon instead), but if I click the "broken image" icon it does take me to the picture.

Anyone else?

No problems arisen from this? Tank functioning just fine?

I kinda wanna steal your idea...

Welcome to the VU. I was able to click on your link and see what you are talking about. Don't you get too much air and not enough juice?

I'm not a huge cloud fan, but it works for me. Comparing the stock one I just got (again, for the 4th time trying stock) to the modified versions I still just love the open, airy draw this gives. I notice the same cloud production, if not better with the modified. IDK, YMMV and it is totally subjective, but I rather enjoy it.

I experience no issues. Coils last a couple / few weeks (unless it's a dud), I blow the coils out (blow into coil end) into a paper towel (wrapped around the holes on the side) every few fill-ups to avoid any build-up and those weird "no vapor and strong taste / burnt / weird" thing. I also blow out the bottom when it is apart, wrapped with paper towel just as with the coil. Works for me anyway.

For what it's worth I use a Cloupor T6 set to anywhere from 10-12.7 or so watts on (preferably) 1.6 coils.

Thanks again for the feedback.
