Ok so I'm getting a Stingray 26650 mod with a TOBH Atty 30mm for Christmas. I bought a IMR 26650 4200mah 3.7V battery. I think I have everything I need. Now here are my questions. Should I get 30g or 20g kental wire? I am planning on doing dual coil but how many ohms should I make it? I am not a Cloud Chaser, yet. But for now im not really thinking in too much clouds but I do want big clouds though. I also need to know how many times do I have to wrap the wire so I can get the amount of ohms im looking for. Im really a noob so I would appreciate some help, Thanks!

the difference between 20 and 30 is HUGE.. and you need an ohms reader so you can test the build prior to firing the device.. as to how to wrap the coil that is totally up to you. how many wraps will also depend on the size of the coil (diameter)..

the online steam engine calculator will let you mess with some different options to figure out about what it should be.. but you still need to TEST the coil prior to firing..

can't tell you much about clouds and builds for that as it is not something I am really into.. I just build coils around getting a good taste.. not so much the cloud.. I use 26g but I only use single coils.. I used 30g for some dual coils but I generally just build singles..

Thanks for the info and the site and yeah I also have an ohms reader :D

I think a good all around gauge would be 28. 10 wraps per coil around the blue handled screwdriver that comes with a lot of devices these days will put you pretty close to .8. Be sure to check ohms and that should be a good starting point.

I would buy a wee spool of 22g, 24g, 26g and try them all using steam-engine that @vladtepes suggested. That way you can cover your bases and find what helps you achieve your "sweet spot". With the exception of my gennies and SquapeR...I build .19ohm dual using 22g micros. The gennies get a .7ohm single micro in 24g, and my SquapeR gets a .5ohm single in 24g. I do not use 22g in those due to space restrictions.

I wouldn't recommend sub ohming that low if you've never wrapped a coil. We don't even know what type of batteries OP has.

One step at a time. It's your safety.

Grab one of these kits, they will be all you need for RDA coils and work.

I use 26 g almost exclusively now for clouds and flavor, I wrap on the 3 mm screwdriver and aim my dual coils to be .3 to .4 ohms.

LV15 is a coupon code for lightning vapes, he rocks, free shipping, fast shipping, great wire, great prices.
Thanks for the info!!

I was merely demonstrating how I use different gauges for different applications and resistance preferences.

Thanks for the info, I'm probablly going to use 26g since everyone has recommended me that one. Thanks again :D

Got ya. I just get nervous when people are still learning. Some of us learned this stuff over the months/years and some of us just want to make clouds.

LOL....I live on the edge, I was just informed today that a cocobolo wood box mod is being made for me with three 18650 batteries and a rheostat that will allow 200w unregulated. He is only making one because only a few of us in the crew are berserk enough to run this to the limit.

Crazy. I got my iPV3 and haven't looked back. One day I will get around to building my own Mod. Maybe once temperature control chips become more common place.

I'll keep you posted. John at Wizard Modz is making a DNA40 based wood box for me presently. Not sure when it will be finished....but it will be well posted once I have it.
