Anyone that has or has had the smok tfv4 have issues with flooding. I currently have the t3 triple coil. Have a tr2 rba coil on the way. I've tried blowing it out. Dry burning. Nothing works. I'm just trying to get by till the new coil comes in. Any tips or tricks. I might have to break out the pro tank. I'm using the sigelei 75w

well there is the trick about trimming the seal at the fill valve trim even with the top. then there is using more or less cotton if your using the rba decks. then there is the o ring at the bottom where it meets the connector. Picture 1.jpg

No no no.
It's going on the retirement shelf.
As a consumer I shouldn't have to fix the manufacturers problems ever.

Weird part is I've had it for about a Mont now no issues. And all of a sudden out of nowhere. It doesn't leak external it just for some reason has a saturation problem. Probably just time for a new coil. That's why I'm getting a rba r2 coil for it.

in theory i do agree 100% however in practice if i can't get my money back i will be dammed to waste it. when a fix is either free or cheap. in my case trimming the seal fixed my issues and i don't use the RBA but it is there if i ever need it.

What exactly does trimming the seal do?

there is a bit of a cliff or edge on the top side of the silicone which could in my case create a non tight seal which allowed a fill of 20/80 to slowly wick out the bottom.

Interesting. When you say 20/80 is that pg/vg or vg/pg? I've been using this over a month and all of a sudden now I'm having this issue maybe the seal is worn out? I do have a spare seal kit that came with it. Maybe I'll try it and see what happens. Either way looks like I'll have to break down and just buy a coil in the morning even though I have one ordered. I can't wait that long lol. Originally I ordered it because I wanted the capability of rebuilding. And the day after I order this happens. Wtf. Well I guess I'll have a spare.

Just to be clear my retirement shelf is where I put things that don't work for me.When my vape buds come over they know anything on the retirement shelf is up for grabs and free of charge. If it stays on the shelf for a year I toss it in a box when the box is full I donate it to somebody in need or a N00b.

I couldn't help but notice you have the top fill seal upsidedown, the ribbs are on the top to help "wipe" when you close it. I made the same mistake, flip it over, and no trimming is required.

I understand, the lip is supposed to be on both sides, I meant the circular ribs, that are on one side should be at the top. The seal is asymetrical. With the lip cut off now, if you were to put the seal right side up, it will slide and no longer index the fill slot. If you have a spare seal, install it with the ribs up,and there will be no problem.

Did that & it still leaks like a sieve...Fuck it not wasting anymore e-liquid on this PoS.
I'm gonna rinse it out and box it up I'll Probably toss the coil-head out as I don't think it can be cleaned out.

I tried too. I noticed if I put small amounts in it almost as if I have an rda it seems okay. Also I made an 80% vg Which seems to help a little. I'll just drip it out until I get the new rba r2 coil and see what happens. If it continues I'll just jump right into the rda scene and put the tank on the shelf for emergencies.

If you have the spare, I'd put it in, as the cap-hinge is under more strain being pushed upwards on it's pivot/hinge if the seal is in the wrong way. You have to push it down-sideways a little harder to close it, over time, it will get loose, and the hinge is not overly beefy as it is.

Probably not a do or die thing though. If you don't have the spare, I wouldn't worry as long as it isn't leaking, and its not being a pain to fill.

I didn't get the kit, but with mine, the one spare I did get was that seal. I think you'll notice a difference, and won't have to trim anything, and the seal will stay in place and not rotate, obstructing the fill port.

Why they didn't make them symmetrical, I don't know.

The other place I have heard of them leaking is the O ring on the coil base, both on the factory coils, and the RBAs. Mine is an older one, and apparently, the newer ones have crap O rings. I've never had a leak in mine.

http://vapingunderground.com/members/blacktoothgrin.19675/ did a remarkable bit of research, replacements are about $.08 apiece at a commercial O ring shop, and are made of Nitrile, whice seems much more heavy duty than the silicone. Here are the sizes:

1X9mm Will fit the dual RBA and factory coils

1X8mm Will fit the Clapton RBA and the chiminey O ring.

He was kind enough to send me some, they are black instead of transparent, and seem of much better quality, and apparently the factory ones I have are better than the ones they are coming out with now. These black ones are serious. lol

Currently there's a Green Kracken and a Green Kayfun and a fuck-ton of e-liquid* on it.

*Old stuff I got that is too high nicotine for me anymore.

I finally put my tf r2 together so far no flooding. Just need to get used to wicking. First one I Burned. Had it too tight. Second one so far so good. Just not sure the max wattage I can use yet. It's a .28 dual coil

Please ignore the coil gore, the trick with the dual wicking, is the tails no lower than the threads

Can't see the attachment. I'm using the cotton that came with it. So far the second wicking isn't bad. I've heard of people using gauze. I tried it on a pen I had before and it seemed to vape pretty clean. But just wondering if anyone had experience with this in a dual coil mod?

What coil diameter gauge wire etc? If you are using the stock coils that came with the RBA, that might be the limit. Might not be the wicking, it could be your build.

I really like 22 gauge 304 SS, 2.5 mm 8 wrap 0.21 Ohm 70-85 watts

I seem to bounce between .28 and .30 ohms not sure why. I do plan on rebuilding with better wire once I figure out what I'm doing with the wicking

There is a tiny o ring on the chimney that is a piece of crap and pops off sending flying into the void for eternity. A seller on ebay has high quality replacements. If you lost that ring the liquid will leak into the coil and out the air flow chamber. Resistance can change with temperature, make sure you put in a new coil at room temp for the mod to get a correct reading, at least that is what i have to do for my xcube II

mine is a full so. i wont advise it for a mini but if you have a spare and are willing to use it in an attempt to alleviate your issue go ahead and report back.

Ahh, yeah, well I needed that trick for my mini, but not for the fullsize, so that's why I was wondering.

I think it must have been the wicking or something was just done. Since I've been using the rda dual coil in the tank no flooding!
