A brand new Fortnite patch released today is kicking off Fortnitemares, a limited time event where monsters spawn and wreak havoc in the battle royale mode.
The cube has made quite the journey since it first appeared last season and its latest move is releasing Cube Fragments onto the map. Cube Monsters will emerge from these fragments and killing them provides a chance at finding extra shield and loot. The small Cube fragments will spawn randomly on the map while the larger fragments can be found at corrupted zones.
To fight off the hoard of monsters are two new weapons. One is the modified return of the crossbow, now known as the Hunter Crossbow with 40 base damage unlimited ammo. The Six Shooter allows for increased fire rate when firing from the hip while aiming down the sight allows for more precision. The Hand Cannon got a few nerfs and the Rocket Launcher has a temporary visual upgrade with the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher.
