Freemax Starre Pro is on the horizon, with temperature control coils.

After all your rave reviews I was about to lay out for a Freemax Starre tank, to pair with my Sigelei 150w and lay my Artics to rest. And I find that Freemax are preparing to release the Pro.

What isn't clear is whether the coils for the Pro will fit the standard Starre, from the pics they look identical. If so, it would mean I could enjoy the Starre now and invest in a temp control mod and coils at a later date. Anyone know?

To spend or not to spend, the eternal questions of a flavour/vapour chaser....

Now that's great news. I love my starre but it doesn't get a lot of use since I switch to temp mode. I tried Atlantis nickel coils in it. It did work but not as good as the stock DVC coils

Yeah, I am holding out for the Sigelie 75w temp control mod. So don't have need for temp control coils as of now. But don't want to invest in any more tanks, especially if there is the risk that they become redundant in a couple of months.

Freemax would be onto a winner in my book if the Pro coils are interchangeable on the standard Starre. However the niggling thing is, why would they release a virtually identical tank if the coils are interchangeable. Logic would say they wouldn't.

Too true. As I am getting older, it's more about the tried and tested stuff.

I like to wait it out and see what works. You get it cheaper and all of the bugs have been ironed out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Did you get the Vaporshark ones? What are you using for temp control right now? Since these coils aren't working in my Starre I'm looking for a new tank to use them with.

Yes I was using the VS Nickel coils on my SX M class. Set at 32 joules and 460 degrees F. This is the mod I use everyday all day. I need to get a few more or some other temp devices because I find the quality of the vape outstanding to anything else without temp control. Right now, I am using the VS coils in my Atlantis 7ml version and also the Silo Beast. It is a great vape but I will snatch up some Starre coils once they do come out. I am curious if they will still be the dual bottom vertical coils like the stock. Trying to keep resistance low with that much wire may be a challenge for them.

Have you tried the VS coils in the starre (assuming you own one). Cause some how I've been getting burnt hits with my coils on my IPV4.

Hi @tactical_tacos , yes I have put the VS coils in my Starre tank. They were just ok, nothing stellar. I found that I was getting some spit back and a bit of inconsistent hits. The flavor was nice as with all Starres but I didnt get any burnt hits. What did you have yours set it. I am thinking that if you cranked it way up like a standard starre tank, it may have done that. Not owning the IPV4 I cant be sure, although I have thought of getting one for the dual battery set up. The price is right on those devices for sure.

Its an awesome device! But I'd wait, I've been seeing some issues pop up on other sites (reddit) and I'm not sure if they are with faulty parts, or user error.

As for my settings, I had it anywhere between 25-35J and 380-420°f. So not cranked up. I only went above 420° one time and I ended up burning a coil out.

Yes Indeed. I have been sitting back and watching / reading the reviews on this. It seems to be a mixed bag of thoughts on it. For now I will stick with the SX M as it is a great device. My only thought was the dual batteries would be nice, but if it doesnt work whats the sense in having 2 batteries in something that you dont use often hahahah a

You do keep your settings low. I get my temp up around 460 - 470 degrees. I find the fruit custardy vapes that I like do best in that range around 32J. I can get a solid week off my coils but I have had a few (what I would consider bum coils) that only lasted a few days. I was reading in another thread about people using the VS coils and having similar problems as you are experiencing. Seems like there is some variation in lot to lot on these coils now. This must be due to the increase demand since the temp market has exploded. Quality of the coils may be suffering to keep up with demand. My first batch of 5 was outstanding. Each one lasted a week to 10 days. Second batch of 5 only got around 3 - 4 days each. I am dreading getting more now because I fear the quality may not be on par with the original batch I got when I started with Temp back in February.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention Evolv hasn't always had the greatest quality control.

I wish there was a place in MA that sold the Silo Beast. I don't wanna wait 2 days for it. Lol

I just got mine last week. Word of caution on it..... dont modify the inner gasket. I tried to open mine up but I went too far. Now this thing is too airy (but I'm still using it hahaha) I'm patiently waiting for the arrival of the new improved gasket. It wasn't too bad with the original just a little tight

Well the site says "in stock" but when I add it to my cart it says "these items will be in stock soon"

Not to mention I can't find a single site with the Vaporshark coils in stock

Has anyone had any issues with the flat gaskets??? Mine came out of the top (located down by the fill holes) and I can't seem to get it back into place. From what I can tell it is kind of redundant, since the top cap has a gasket. The one in the bottom, at the bottom of the "plunger" seems to be floating around as well.
