Hey everyone. I am hearing a lot about people freezing nic. What is the shelf life of nic and vg/pg? Should you freeze everything? Just seems like a pain to thaw everything before mixing.

I freeze only my nic, because I have more than I can use in 3 months! It doesn't actually freeze, though :)

Pg and vg don't freeze, they just get thicker. You can safely freeze nic, pg, vg, and flavorings and just bring them to room temperature before use.

So how long do they last if you don't freeze them?

Depending on storage conditions, about a year for flavors and close to the same for pg and vg. Nicotine will oxidize fairly quickly by comparison, but that doesn't make it bad, just a bit harsher.

I don't like my nic to sit in room temperature for more than a week or two - I keep an amber glass bottle out for day-to-day mixing that lasts me about that long, then in the freezer I have larger amber bottles that only warm to room temperature three or four times to refill my smaller in-use bottle before they're emptied. Flavors and PG/VG sit in a dark cabinet at room temperature, and even though shelf life seems to be stated at 12-18 months based on the package markings I've received I try not to order more of any one flavor than I can use in the next six months.
