Frustration with smoking

I'm thinking I might need to re up to 12 mg.

I have no issues with avoiding smoking on work days, I also don't have an issue when I'm out. . I might have one a day at that point.

When I'm home on my days off however, I'm basically smoking like I was, especially when I can't sleep. It's annoying. I'm thinking it's more psychological, so I'm really frustrated on this end.

So you're still smoking cigs? & you can try going back up to 12 I started at 12 but couldn't do it for long it was killing me and making me cough and I'd get. Tickle in the back of my throat. I get real antsy when I'm at home or in the car. That's when I smoked cigs the most. Try doing something else play a game, run, take a bath, whatever you fancy to stop thinking about it and trick your mind it really is all psychological

When I first started out and at the point that cigs were tasting terrible, I MADE myself leave them in my car, no matter where I was. When at work, I vaped through smoke breaks, on the drive home I'd light a cigarette, but couldn't get past the first few puffs before I tossed it out. Now, it did take me 2-3 weeks to get to that point. Also, it took a juice that I liked a lot.

Don't beat yourself up over a cigarette a day. When you're home and want to pick up a smoke, reach for your vape instead. If you want to quit, make it inconvenient to grab one. I was scared to be without them, but made myself do it and realized I was actually ok with just my vape. That was over 1.5 yrs ago. I'm not a "seasoned vaper" compared to a lot of people here, but I'm happy to say that I am an ex-smoker :)

Stick with us, you'll get there. We were all there once, too.

^^What Huck said^^ Find a juice you really like & that's more pleasurable than a cig. Make your vape handy & 'stinkies' inconvenient. Mine were so inconvenient, that I found 4 1/2 packs when I was cleaning out my freezer last night (and it's been well over a year since I smoked my last analog). Even after I got to the point that a cig tasted so nasty that I could only take a couple of puffs before throwing it away, I didn't think I could quit. It was when I got to the point where I could smell the way I smelled after smoking, it was easy. I hated that smell on my hands, clothes, in my hair & car. It's nice to smell smoke-free.

I started at 18mg, went down to 3 and eventually back up to 12 in my kayfun. Using 6mg in my tobh. Finding the right level really makes a difference. The search for a kickass flavor on the cheap continues. :/ Good luck.

Bear in mind, I was a heavy smoker. 2+ packs a day.

I started with an ego and 18 nic. was NOT even close to enough for me. The flavors sucked too. Nothing I REALLY liked.

Once I got to 24 nic in a good tank (Kanger Aero V2), I kick smokes to the curb.

I used to roll my own smokes, and I still have tobacco, tubes, and the machine on a shelf. Nostalgia more or less, because I have no desire to smoke.

I will give ya that nic level is important, but so is the delivery system.

Just be patient.

The more you vape the less you will want to smoke.

And then your sense of smell will come back, and you may find yourself looking at the smoker in your house funny:eek:

If there wasn't a smoker in the house I'd be good
I feel your pain. I got off the cigs with the wife smoking. I'll grant you it's rough for a while but you'll get through it. I think it's gonna be harder on me getting her to quit than me. LOL

It was harder for me to stop smoking than it was for my boyfriend. He stopped immediately. I struggled for flavor and for the right mg. I started at 18mg, jumped up to 24mg for a bit, then was able to go back to 18 pretty quickly. I'm at somewhere between 10 and 13 now.

I needed real tobacco flavors - still do. The others don't do it for me. It's been about 18 months to drop down to 6-12 nic.

It was hard for me the first week my boyfriend surprisingly smoked a lot more cigs than me while starting to vape. I was very shocked as I smoked way more than he did. And I've honestly found it harder to give up my diet mt dew than it was to quit smoking

I quit a 2 pack a day habit the night before I started vaping (batteries were charging 'cause I bought "enough"). This was while living with a pack a day smoker who did not quit. Like some others ... high nic (36 mg/ml until a few months ago) and a tobacco flavor I could bear (tried several that didn't work). I simply decided I wasn't picking up another cigarette.

Well, she did finally quit. My Valentine to her in 2014 was a full kit and unlimited support. She's still doing 36 nic and mostly tobacco flavors. And, she makes a year next month. Works out for us both 'cause I get to distribute the spoils of my buying addiction and we are happier and healthier.

Fifteen and one half months for me, stopping smoking completely, tomorrow. I went from smoking two plus packs a day to vaping full time.
My secret...18mg. strength and tobacco based flavors ONLY.
I've tried many different flavored juices (dessert, fruit, candy, etc.) but tobacco based is the only flavor I can use without wanting more.
Funny how the mind works.

flavor wise so far I think I tend to prefer cooler feeling flavors, like kringles curse and I'm digging this Lemonade from joy tech. Anything minty.

I thought, for sure, that I would only be satisfied with tobacco flavors. I quickly switched to fruity flavors & still can't seem to expand my horizons to other flavors. Every once in a while, I enjoy a fruit w/light mint and have just found a creamy fruit that I enjoy. I smoked a couple of packs a day (Ultra Lights the last few years) for 35 yrs. I started off at 12mg/ml, and reduced to 6 pretty fast. About 5 months ago, I started tapering to 3mg/ml & have just started vaping some 0. I always thought smoking was more of a hand-to-mouth pacifier and offered me an excuse to take a break or change tasks - Granted, I knew that I had a physical & psychological addiction, but quitting was much easier when I started vaping, than any past efforts that I had made (unsuccessfully). Like @galsvapetoo - I always said I'd rather go without cigarettes, than without my Diet Dr. Pepper... now, I've switched to Coke. LOL. I don't think I'll be giving up either vaping or carbonation any time soon.

We all are heading toward the same smoke-free destination. But, are all just taking the route that works best for us. Happy travels, everyone.

Stress hit like a wild fire. I smoked for a straight week, with minimal Vaping. Definitely need a higher milligram sitting around for those moments. Getting myself back on track.

I started at 18, the stupids surrounding me almost died. 9was not just the stupids... everyone was stupid at that point).
Went to 24 and only the stupids were under immediate threat of extinction.
then 36mg with added bumps for the rough patches. The stupids were secure in their spread.
Now that I have decent gear, decent mixes and no longer deal with a horde of stupids everyday I am content at 3-12 mg..
Plus if it gets REALLY bad I have snuff to carry me over that hump.

Vaporchaos, whats kind of device are you using? Bumping up nic will have mixed results if your device is not creating enough vapor to satisfy you. There is a reason people use much less nic with much more efficient devices.
While increasing nic is the cheaper and easier option, its not gonna make your vape any more flavorful, satisfying, or tolerable.

I did the same thing in my first six months of vaping, id vape most of the day and smoke in between. Why? IMO my hardware sucked, and nic level had very little to do with it.
I havent had a cigarette for months now and it has nothing to do with willpower. Its because my device is more satisfying than a real cigarette.

I have a few now, which definitely helps plus a stand by 12 mg juice. I have 2 eleafs, an aspire premium kit, a back up ego aspire battery, and a halo cigalike g6. The halo believe it or not is a life saver when I'm running around the house like a crazy person getting ready to go somewhere (cause it pretty much stays in my mouth) lol. It helps when I'm really thinking cigarette too.

I have to switch up juices too because I get bored.
