We root for the Handymen as the protagonists, but this episode of Gangsta reminds us that, you know, murdering people in the streets isn’t normal. While this episode isn’t as hard hitting as the first, there’s still a lot of good development and a great fight. Plus, we get more details about the Tags along with new information on the Handymen’s allies and a new antagonist.
Gangsta is a heavy show, but now we have a bright spot in this void of a city: Nina. This little girl works as a nurse at a clinic with Dr. Theo. The doctor seems to be responsible for Worick and Nicolas’ wellbeing, and in return the Handymen help them get rid of thugs that try to forcefully recruit the doctor to their gang. It’s fun to see Nina fret over Worick and Nicolas’ health. I also appreciate that Worick acknowledges how smart and adult she is for her age, especially in a city as messed up as Ergastulum. It was also nice to see that Nicolas has a soft spot for her, which serves as a great contrast for the biggest theme of the episode.
