Aesthetics and Ergonomics
The Blade comes in the normal Geekvape packaging and includes a rather nice USB cable. When i opened the box i could of done with a pair of sunglasses as i was met by a very over the top colourful device which would of looked right at home in the summer of love, it's terrible but you guessed it my wife thinks it looks beautiful. I received the Starry night version and it also comes in Poppy which i also don't like but my wife thinks looks great, the other colours are Matte Black and Crystal Sand which i think looks stunning. It's a big device for a duel battery yet without batteries not too heavy as it's made out of light yet durable aircraft material, exactly what i'm not too sure. I know it's not but the feel and weight is like that of balsa wood, the surface is smooth yet it has a grip to it, feels really nice. There really isn't a lot to describe as the device's sides, back and base are featureless apart from venting on the back and printed branding and safety stamps on the base. The front of the device has a panel which houses a large round fire button at the top, + and - buttons and micro USB port at the bottom and a very large screen centrally. The top of the device has a 510 plate with etched on branding, with gold plated, spring loaded 510, at the front the Blade tapers inwards both top and bottom. The device is very nicely made and feels great ergonomically when thumb firing.
The USB Cable
The USB cables supplied with Geekvape device's are excellent. As well as a micro USB connector for your device it also has a lightning connector which can be used with the modern iphones and ipods.

Fitting the batteries
The Blade is sold as a device that can be used with 21700, 20700 or 18650 batteries, the battery door is the entire back of the device and there is a notch on the side to help get the door off and you need it, the door is impressively secure. You get the device set up for 18650 batteries but pulling the inner tray out reveals the bigger tray to fit those 70mm batteries. The 21700 fit nice and snugly and if using 20700 batteries you have to shake the device like a mad man to detect rattle so those are also fine the problem i found was fitting 18650 batteries with the tray adaptor. I could not get them in unless i really forced them and i am not going to force batteries into position so unless Geekvape change the 18650 tray i would say if you were intending to buy this device to use with 18650 batteries, don't!
Using the Blade
The Blade is the usual 5 clicks to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off and it has a large bright screen with a very clear layout. There are some combination key press functions which are, + and fire together increases the brightness of the screen, - and fire together decreases the brightness of the screen and - and + together locks the device. The screen displays the mode at the top, under this the wattage (temperature when in temp control), under this the 2 battery status bars, then the resistance, under this the amps, then the volts and finally puffs which when you vape changes to time vaped and then goes back to puffs afterwards. Pressing the fire button 3 times highlights the mode which now can be changed. When highlighted each press of the + button takes you to the next mode and if you overshoot the - button takes you back, the modes are Power, TC-Ni, TC-SS, TC-Ti, TCR, VPR (variable power curve, usually called CCW) and Bypass. If you use temp control then when the mode you want is highlighted each press of the fire button takes you to the next item on the screen you can alter, you can lock resistance, set wattage and input TCR values. It's not a con and maybe someone who uses temp control will have an answer but i don't understand why this has a TCR mode as TCR value can be inputted in any of the temp wire modes and i can see nothing extra that can be done when selecting TCR. The interface is very uncomplicated and those that have the Aegis will be very familiar with it.
Performance
Like the Aegis the Blade fires instantly and hits pretty hard, it also feels great in use especially thumb firing. The curves function works well and all wattage's i vaped at seemed spot on, it's a very good device. I like to try high wattage device's at low wattage to see if the device is quiet and you could hear a pin drop. The bottom of the device tapers away to match the top which is a false move by Geekvape especially because the 510 is towards the front of the device, making it a candidate to topple over, it doesn't topple over by itself but it is not the most stable of devices, i certainly wouldn't use any bigger tanks than 26mm else it will become more unstable. The battery life with the 21700 batteries i used was excellent, the blade is also firmware upgradeable.
Conclusion
A very nice device to handle and use which performs great, but a no go with 18650's is my advice and a topple over candidate, but still a device i liked a lot.
