getting coils to burn evenly without dry burning?

how do coil makers lets use crown as an example get their coils to burn evenly without dry burning? or how do they dry burn with their coils incased in the coil head? they cant do it before they install them because the act of installing them would cause them to burn unevenly again no?

In some cases the dont.. this is why coilhead performed can sometimes be hit and miss... in some cases they torch the coils or fire them prior to wicking and inserting into the head. In some cases they wrap with the wire tensioned which also can reduce hot spots.
