Warning: Full spoilers from the episode follow.
"Girl Meets Pluto" was a highly anticipated episode for Boy Meets World fans, as Cory, Shawn and Topanga reunited with their old mentor Mr. Feeny! And while the latter didn't get as much screen time as we might have hoped, tonight's storyline was a big one for Shawn and, by extension, the rest of the core group. At the same time, "Girl Meets Pluto" was jam-packed with Boy Meets World references, maybe to a fault. ("They want you to take the rolls!") But that didn't make them any less rewarding to longtime fans like myself.
While the time capsule plot device was a little contrived (to my knowledge, no Boy Meets World episode ever involved such a thing), it did yield some great character moments -- from Cory's inexplicable shovel obsession to the kids putting together their own time capsule. It was also fun seeing Maya's mom Katy again, as she offered the kids advice based on her own experience "playing a waitress." ("It's your real life." "It can't be.")
