Girl Meets World: "Girl Meets Rules" Review

Despite taking place almost entirely in the classroom, this week's Girl Meets World was one of the season's strongest, thanks to a clever Breakfast Club/Lord of the Flies sendup. With Cory showing up late, the class had free reign to do whatever they want, and in this case it actually made sense. One of the funnier recurring jokes in "Girl Meets Rules" was the fact that "Lucas the Good" had never done anything wrong, and had to get detention by texting Cory a lewd message, for example.

This episode was also another good example of Riley and Maya's clashing personalities -- especially when it came to surviving an hour in the classroom without supervision. Naturally, the gang split in two, with Maya's clan immediately turning into Road Warriors ("You know, they call me Mad Dog.") and Riley's "folding their hands like so." I was also glad to see some of the other kids contributing to the storyline this time, specifically in Riley's group. ("Oh, that's right. You guys don't talk, do you?")
