TOHO Studios has released a new poster for their upcoming kaiju epic Godzilla Minus One, the first domestic Japanese Godzilla film since Shin Godzilla in 2016. This new poster – seen below – touts the film’s release in the multi-sensory 4DX theatrical format.
Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus One’s official plot synopsis reveals the film “takes place just after the war when Japan has no self-defense force or no armaments. The starting point is what happens if Godzilla comes to Japan while it is completely disarmed.”
Godzilla Minus One stars Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima and Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi.
The cast also includes Yuki Yamada as Shiro Mizushima, Munetaka Aoki as Sosaku Tachibana, Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Noda, Sakura Ando as Sumiko Ota, and Kuranosuke Sasaki as Seiji Akitsu. The film features music by Naoki Sato.
Godzilla Minus One opens in US theaters nationwide on December 1 with early access fan event screenings happening on November 29 in participating premium large format theaters.
