Going from uwell crown to an rta

Hey Team, Sorry for yet another request for advice on an rta. Many thanks for responses in advance. I am struggling on which RTA to buy as my first and possible only RTA purchase. I would love to by only one, and not have to buy another one for a year. I am not really a mod hoarder or tank hoarder. I have watched a ton of videos and reviews but trust my community more.

What do I roll with now. Uwell Crown, love the 0.25 and 0.5 ss coils. My preference is the 0.5ohm coil. Love the flavor and performance of the coils. I know that it is a subohm tank, but I still do MTL on the tank...I want great flavor, but I like the increased amount of vapor from a subohm tank.

I plan to build my coils between the 0.3 to 0.8ohms. Kanthal or SS316. I do not plan to venture in super sub'ohmy builds like 0.1-0.25

I have three choices available to me.

Mutation X MT-RTA (will get the two post as well)
Smok TF-RTA G2
GeekVape Griffin Two Post RTA

Three areas of concern I am looking for comments...
Flavor? Good or Great
Easy to wick? Good or great
Durability? are the threads on the tank and screws...and o-rings and ect holding up.

Also, recommendations for acouple sites? I have used vaperdna...which i love, but I may want to try another site that is more geared to stocking wire and ect. Plan to only by in the usa.

i switched form a crown to a crius to a griffin

griffin is super easy to wick and build on. EASY AS ANYTHING

i would go to TBD liquids
https://www.tbdliquids.com/products...rebuildable-tank-atomizer?variant=17151774595

use coupon code vapecrawler for 10% off so its 19.80 for the tank

ive only had mine for a few weeks but seems durable, i dropped it a few times only broke the glass good thing it comes with a spare

all the threads were smooth and easy from day 1

1. I have the mutank which is pretty much exactly the same as mt but can also take prebuilt subohm coils as well as rba(not sure if the Mt can take the subohm coils bit I could be wrong) I like that tank a lot it does have a few issues it will leak when filling if your not carefull (if you do like a 2 second primer hit after filling and before opening airflow it tends not to leak but don't go more then like 2 seconds or it will flood it ) wicking can be tricky at first it take A LOT of cotton. And you can't access the build deck when it's filled which is the biggest con in my book. It does have really good airflow and flavor
2. I also own a griffin 22 which for a while was my favorite tank. It has decent airflow (not as good as the mutank) it has great flavor (maybe slightly better than the mutank but they are close) you can easily access the build deck after filled. Wicking is pretty easy but can be hard at first. A wide bore driptip and comes with adapter. Big build deck, bigger then the mutank.
3.I don't own a smok tf rta and don't know much about it besides what I saw on youtube. Most reviewers seemed to like it but you can't always trust them. Personally I've never been a big fan of the Smok atty's the tfv4 was OK but destroyed coils too quickly.
4. What I'd suggest. If I had to choose between the 3 it would be griffin it's all around a very good tank. That being said my griffin has been collecting dust since I got both the aromamizer supreme (and I hated the original v1 aromamizer) and my boreas. The boreas is my favorite but the Supreme is also very good they both produce more vapor then the griffin 22. The boreas has my favorite airflow out of any tank I own. The boreas also has an enormous build deck. Also holds 8ml of juice the griffin holds 3.5 But like I said if it has to be one of the 3 it would be the griffin if it can be something else then the boreas.

Little help here, I'm a Crown devotee (was a dripper before that), recently switched to an Augvape Alleria - I know it's not on your list, but it's a Velocity-style two post build deck that builds easy, wicking is a bit trickier than an RDA but after a week or so and a handful of builds I think I've figured it out with the setup I installed earlier tonight.

While I thought the Alleria would be cool because of the glass deck surround (and it is), I wish I'd gone with the Boreas, which has tons of killer reviews here - so far I've broken the original glass dome and the spare glass dome - stole the spare from the tank I bought my wife (who's barely used hers), and after this I'm SOL unless I buy more backup parts or stop ham-fisting the stupid thing...speaking only to your preferences, I've heard great things about the Griffin and would be on board with pretty much anything with a Velocity deck - I haven't attempted RTA since back when the Kayfun at 12-15 watts was fashionable, needless to say things are better now.

I've actually heard good things about the Alleria but I've never used one. The boreas gives the closest that I've seen to a dripper like experience there's something about it I think a big part of it is the airflow. Flavor wise it's very similar to the griffin. you can fit almost any coils you want in the boreas, the griffin is also big but not as big as the boreas. Like I said in my last post the griffin was my all time favorite tank. It was the only tank I would use for about 4 months. I think i might have used it once or twice since I got my boreas and supreme they are that much better especially the boreas.

I thought the Crown was as close as I'd get to a dripping experience in a tank - it's what finally got me to stop carrying a drip bottle around in my pocket all day. The Alleria is better, much better. But I can't fit 3 mm ID Claptons on it, broke one of the glass sleeves trying...rebuilt with 2.5 mm and I'm stoked, especially with the tiny factor, but it's only 3 ml. I think a Boreas is in my future, given the quality/cost I've seen so far from Augvape.

I've only tried the crown a few times I've never owned one but I have good friend who has one and I didn't like it much but part of my problem is I hated the juice he had in it so I can't really give it a fair rating. I never really got into sub tanks only because I like the customability of rba's and rda's and I enjoy making coils it's fun for me. I know a lot of people really like the crown though and I'm not hating on it. Actually if I could only have 1 atty for the rest of my life it would be an rda.

I've got a Velocity clone set up for squonking with a Kanger Dripbox, and that setup has me convinced that if I could find a decent-priced VW bottom feeder setup I'd abandon tanks again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for all the feedback. Welp, it
Looks like I'm gonna get the airomizer supreme 25mm. I know, wasn't on my list haha. After watch some more videos, I ran across it and after that one I started seeing all the positive feedback. I picked that one over the borase just for worries about leaking.

That would be the one area the boreas can be tricky you have to follow the right steps to fill. My supreme has never leaked except once and I probably messed up the wicking that time

I still gotta try that squonking shit lol I don't know much about it besides what it's supposed to do but I have no idea how well it works or anything like that. I am curious though lol :)

The Boreas is the bomb diggity, but may not be right for you unless you can use a 25mm tank. If it's too big, I second the idea of getting the RTA deck for the Crown. If you are dead set on your 3 options, I'd personally pick the Griffin or the newer 25mm version. That was on my short list until the Boreas was born.

If not for squonking, I would rarely use RDAs. I don't leave e liquid out due to my critters, and I'm not going to constantly go to the kitchen to refill.

The Dripbox is a cheap way to give it a try, which was exactly what I was expecting out of it, because tried-and-true mods like the REO or custom boxes are crazy expensive. That said, it was enough to let me know that while squonking is great, I need to step up and get a quality mod to do it with, because the Kanger is kind of a cheap POS.
