I can't seem to get my tank unscrewed from the chimney I just got it and it's a pita that I can't get to the chimney and tank section to clean it and ideas or tips on how to get the chimney out?

Cotton must have binded the threading. The chimney does have flats sides so a wrench could remove it.

I haven't even built on it yet I'm just trying to get the tank clean I have everything else taken off.

Damn. Either it's crossed threaded or just over-tightened from the factory. It could even have a metal bur that's caught in the threading.

The base is off, right? The next step is to hold the glass section and unscrew the topcap. Then the chimney just falls out the bottom.

I've been trying that it just doesn't want to move it feels like it is almost glued together

Try freezing it. Any constrained part will "crush" by a couple 1/10,000" as the constraining part contracts around it -- it should come apart.
